Being Pastor doesn't stop me from acting any role giving to me - Euchariah Ananobi

Nollywood actress turned pastor, Eucharia Anunobi has revealed that being a pastor doesn’t stop her from acting roles given to her.

The actress said this while reacting to reports that she has stopped acting.

According to her, “my individuality is different from whatever character I portray in a movie.”

Speaking to the Punch, she said, “Some people think that when you become a minister of the gospel, you are not supposed to have a career. However, being a minister does not stop you from working.

“Since I started acting, I have never taken a break and I am not going there. I think what caused this misconception is that because of the activities of pirates, many movie producers were not publicising our works. So when people don’t see you in movie adverts, they think that you are no longer on the scene.

“As a matter of fact, I just got back from set. Even as a pastor, I can still act a movie like Glamour Girls because my individuality is different from whatever character I portray in a movie. I always tell people that undue exposure of the body that does not add to the story doesn’t make sense.

“I watch some movies where people bare skin for no plausible reason. Being a pastor does not stop me from acting any role, as long as there is no undue exposure of my body. I gave my life tChrist in 1997; so, even at the peak of my career, I was a born again.”

Gov. Dickson of Bayelsa to pay N3000 Naira monthly stipend to Pregnant women in his State. Nice one there!

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has announced that pregnant women in the state will receive a monthly allowance of N3,000. He made this known while speaking during the maiden Infant and Maternal Mortality Summit held in Yenagoa, the state capital, on Monday.
The Governor said the allowance was meant to cover the cost of antenatal care for expectant mothers every month.
He said,
Quote
“In order to make it possible for every pregnant woman to deliver safely and to ensure that they are accounted for, supervised and supported throughout pregnancy up to the time of delivery, the government is announcing a safe maternity allowance of N3,000 per month to every pregnant woman in Bayelsa.
“From the moment a Bayelsa woman and every woman living in Bayelsa becomes pregnant, she is entitled to N3,000 until her delivery.
“But that money will be accessed upon registration in your nearest health care facility for antenatal services. Those who are attending to you will ensure they run a simple test to ensure that you are pregnant.
“As they confirm that, they will enrol you for the antenatal programme, which should not be more than nine months. From that month, through the recommendation of that health care centre, you will receive N3,000 every month until you deliver.
“This is not just about making money available, but ensuring that the health team gives me a monthly report of the number of women who have been registered in the safe motherhood programme from each local government, as well as the report of their pregnancies and delivery.”
Lamenting the rate of infant and maternal mortality in the state, the governor said his administration had decided to stem the tide by building world-class health care facilities in the state.

Alexis Reveals why she sleeps with men for N75,000k per hour.

A 22-year-old lady identified as Alexis has revealed how becoming an £150-an-hour (over N75,000 per hour) escort has made her feel like a ‘new woman’ after growing disillusioned with online dating.
Alexis entered the world of sex work in a bid to find ‘fun and excitement’ after a spate of bad experiences with men, and told the cameras her first experience was not as ‘sleazy’ as she thought it would be.
According to The Sun UK, ALexis signed up to Cardiff’s largest escort agency – the name of which was not given – where she offered a 66 per cent cut of her hourly fee.
Alexis’s agency manager, Laurence, insists he is selling nothing more than ‘time and companionship’ – and anything that takes place during a booking is ‘mutually consenting’ between the woman and the client.
During their first meeting, he told Alexis:
‘You’ve got quite a unique look, we’ll present you as an ebony princess.’
Laurence advised the newbie to ensure her clients hands over cash at beginning of a ‘meeting’ and to wear ‘expensive and classy’ clothing.
Alexis – whose family and friends had no idea about her new career path – was quickly inundated with offers from clients and described her apprehension during a taxi ride to her first booking.
‘I don’t really know what I’m getting myself into,’ she admitted. ‘I’m just nervous that it’s not going to be what I expected it to be.’
But after the hour was up, she was full of praise for her ‘really nice’ client – while conceding that he was ‘quite chubby’ and not her usual type.
Reflecting on the ‘awkward’ encounter later on, she said:
‘As soon as I gave him the money, he started taking off his shoes and put his socks on the radiator… he took off his jacket and was unbuckling his belt.
‘The things he was saying in my ear, it just felt good.’ Alexis concluded that for an hour’s company, it was ‘easy work’.
‘It’s not as cheap or sleazy as I thought it would be given that he’s quite a bit older than me,’ she mused. ‘I felt like I was on an expensive date. I felt like I was his wife almost.’

Onyeka Onwenu weeps, begs Buhari,
Boko Haram over Leah Sharibu

Rescue our children languishing in captivity,” Onwenu pleaded

2019 Elections: Saraki Secondus, Tambuwal, Ortom, Wike meets

Intrigues ahead of the 2019 elections continued yesterday as Senate President Bukola Saraki, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus and other high ranking members of the party met in Ilorin, Kwara State. Others at the meeting included former Jigawa State governor and PDP presidential aspirant, Alhaji Sule Lamido; Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers); Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) and National Publicity Secretary of the PDP Mr. Kola Ologbodiyan. The meeting is seen as further moves by some elements in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), who have since formed a splinter group, to return to the opposition party. The meeting came after some of the dignitaries had taken part in the eighth day ‘Fidda’u prayers for Alhaja Aishat, mother of Alhaji Kawu Baraje, who led the formation of R-APC before he re-joined the PDP few days ago. For Secondus, yesterday’s meeting was his second coming to Ilorin in five days. He had earlier visited the Baraje family house on Saturday. Though attendees were not forthcoming as to what was discussed at the meeting which took place at Saraki’s home in Ilorin, the spokesman of the PDP, Ologbondiyan described it as “a gathering of like minds.” “It is a brotherhood meeting. Our leaders met and they shared thoughts on the future of Nigeria and how to improve on the living condition of Nigerians and how to make Nigeria a better place for all to live in. “It was a convergence of notable Nigerians; do not forget that the essence of today was to commiserate with Alhaji Baraje on the death of his mother. When politicians meet, they must discuss politics and how to improve on the standard of living of Nigerians. It will not be wrong to say that some issues were discussed,” he said. On when Saraki would defect, he said, “I do not know when Saraki and Baraje will publicly declare their defection. I cannot speak on that,” he said. Saraki’s media aides also declined to speak on the issue, even as they dismissed speculations that it [the meeting] was meant to perfect the defection plan of the Senate President. Already, Ortom had said that the APC had given him a red card, while Tambuwal is said to be consulting with regards to his expected exit from the APC. Saraki had on his return to Ilorin on Tuesday asked that he should not be rushed on the issue of his speculated plan to defect from the APC. Ortom: Meeting with APC to determine next move Earlier in the day, Governor Ortom had told journalists that his meeting with the national leadership of the APC would determine his next political move. He, however, explained that the final decision lied with his people who were more important to him. Ortom stated this in Ilorin while speaking with journalists shortly after his visit to the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed. At the fidda’u prayer, the Grand Mukaddam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Sulaiman Dan Borno, called on believers to be steadfast and do good at all times, saying whatever one did had its rewards. Other dignitaries at the prayers included the Deputy National Chairman of the APC (North), Senator Lawan Shuaib and his Southern counterpart, Niyi Adebayo; Senators Barnabas Gemade, Shaaba Lafiagi, members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, representatives of the Emir of Ilorin, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, and members of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the state, among others. What APC insiders say Credible sources with the ruling APC said yesterday that the likes of Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, Tambuwal and ex-Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, and many others were all weighing the final options before their departure. One of the sources said, “For now, almost all of them see the PDP as the last resort because it is the only party with what I can call semblance of presence here and there. “But there is a huge problem for many of them; and we all know that politics is local. With the exception of few, many of them would simply meet a worst scenario in PDP in their various states and even at the centre. You see, you cannot eat your cake and have it,” he said. Another source said, “The PDP had it shared problems in the last three years and some people remained there all these while and suffered the brunt; those going back are fair weather friends that could not be trusted.” The Chairman of the APC in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, had on Monday said that there was no reason for Tambuwal to leave the party and that they were not contemplating sacking him because he did nothing to warrant ejection. “We are with him (Tambuwal). There has been nothing incriminating from him, he is with APC 100 per cent; supporting us, giving us everything we need,” he said. Also, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed on Media, Dr. Muideen Akorede, also said on Monday that his principal was still a strong member of the party. There were insinuations that Governor Ahmed would follow Saraki to PDP or another party in the coming days, considering that Saraki’s strong ally, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, had jumped ship to the leading opposition party. Oshiomhole: We can ignore Buba Galadima The National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, had on July 7 assured President Muhammadu Buhari that the party will be victorious in 2019 without members of R-APC. Oshiomhole who played host to former state chairpersons of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), said his leadership had started meeting with members who have genuine grievances. “We listened to Buba Galadima [chairman of the splinter R-APC]. It is as if a very hungry bird is dancing at the centre of the road and a disgruntled drummer not far away in the bush is drumming for him. “But this is not to say that we are not aware that there are challenges here and there, but anything about APC is considered more much more than the sum total of all the challenges we have in many of the states. And by the special grace of God we shall overcome them and we are already overcoming them. “I am very confident that we can afford to ignore Buba Galadima. When we see people who have genuine grievances, we are not ashamed to talk to them. We recognise that democracy is an equaliser and only people who are humble enough to engage can survive and we have been engaging. “We have been meeting with various individuals and groups who we believe really have genuine concerns on certain matters and we are making progress. But when we see people who don’t mean well, there are a lot of idle people who don’t have any other thing to do and once they don’t have access to national honey pot, then they begin to complain,” he said. “Nigerians are wiser, they know that corruption is fighting back, they also know that President Buhari’s resolve to fight corruption must elicit a counter force and that force must find attraction in some people,” Oshiomhole said. On Tuesday, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC, Sen. Lawali Shuaibu met with former Governor of Benue State, George Akume over Governor Ortom’s claim that he was given a red card. A source in the APC told our correspondent that the meeting was deadlocked because the side of Governor Ortom was not heard yet. “We feel some of those who alleged they were marginalized are being disingenuous; what more can you give a Senate president or Speaker? What do you think you can give a governor so that he would be convinced that he is being carried along? I mean, we should be fair to ourselves and may be some of them simply want President Buhari to vacate his seat for them to occupy it. But they can go ahead and challenge him under different platforms; one thing that is certain is that you can only have one president at a time,” he said.

Taraba indigenes to go to War with Fulani herdsmen

 Over 73 killed, 50 villages burnt, 3,000 Fulani displaced in one week

There are indications that indigenes of local communities in Taraba State have in about the past one week taken up arms to engage the Fulani herdsmen in confrontational war, leading to collateral damages on both sides. Over 73 persons were said to have been confirmed dead and about 50 villages burnt in renewed hostilities involving Fulani herdsmen and Yandang communities in Lau Local Government Area, Taraba State. National Daily gathered that Taraba State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Sahabi Mahmoud, on Friday, lamented in Jalingo that over 23 Fulani who are members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria have been killed in the renewed violent confrontation with the locals which began on July 5. Alhaji Sahabi Mahmoud decried that over 3,000 Fulani have been displaced, pointing out that displaced victims include mainly women and children. He said that they fled the area and currently taking refuge at the Muslim Council Secretariat in Jalingo and other neighbouring local government areas. Mahmoud had bemoaned that it was “unfortunate” that since the displaced persons arrived the Muslim Council in Jalingo, no government official had visited the camp or provided any relief material to the victims. On the other divide, an elder of the Yandang community, Mr. Aaron Artimas, was gathered to have admitted that over 50 people in Yandang and other tribes in the area have been confirmed dead in the conflicts. Artimas had recalled that the Hausa-Fulanis, Yandang, Mumuye, and Yoti, and other tribes in the zone had been living in peace as brothers and sisters without problems for centuries before the Fulani herdsmen violent upsurge.

DAPCHI ABDUCTION :HOW SECURITY FORCES ALLOWED BOKO HARAM TO ABDUCT SCHOOL GIRLS - AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL.

Global human rights watchdog, Amnesty International, AI, has revealed that Nigerian security forces got advance warnings that a convoy of Boko Haram fighters was heading towards Dapchi, a town where 110 schoolgirls were abducted by terrorists on February 19 in an assault similar to the infamous Chibok girls’ abduction of April 2014.
It claimed that no fewer than five calls were put across to security forces between 2pm and 6:30pm on that fateful day of the abduction of female pupils from Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state.
In a report on the incident released yesterday, Amnesty International said the first call was made to the Nigerian Army Command in Geidam, 54km from Dapchi, informing them that Boko Haram fighters had been seen at Futchimiram heading to Gumsa, a village about 30km from Dapchi.
However, the evidence documented by the international group shows that the military did nothing to stop the insurgents.
“The sighting of an armed convoy at Futchimiram immediately sparked several phone calls to alert authorities. Sources who informed the military commander in Geidam at 2p.m. report that he responded to them by saying he was aware of the situation and was monitoring it.
“At about 3pm, the convoy arrived in Gumsa, where they remained till 5pm. People in Gumsa called Dapchi villagers to warn them that Boko Haram fighters were on their way. One villager who received such a call said he informed a police sergeant who promised to notify the Dapchi Division Police Officer (DPO).
“At about 6:30pm, when residents were heading to the mosque for evening prayers, Boko Haram members entered Dapchi. Witnesses said Boko Haram fighters asked for directions to the military post, the local government office and the girls’ school,” the report said.
Amnesty learnt from an eyewitness that approximately 50 Boko Haram fighters stormed Dapchi in a convoy of nine vehicles with Arabic inscriptions on them. The vehicles included seven Land Cruiser trucks, one Hilux and a Canter truck.
A police source in Dapchi also told the group that on sighting them, police officers fled because they feared that the Boko Haram fighters would overpower them. According to victims and eyewitnesses interviewed by AI, Boko Haram left Gumsa for Dapchi at about 5pm, arriving at about 6:30pm.
“They left Dapchi at about 7:30pm in the direction of Gumsa, where villagers say they arrived at about 9p.m. During the attack, army officials both in Geidam and Damaturu were again alerted. The military only arrived in Dapchi shortly after Boko Haram left. Villagers in Dapchi and Gumsa said a military jet arrived about one hour after Boko Haram left Dapchi,” read the report.
AI lamented that in spite of the several distress calls, the Nigerian military neither took effective measures to stop the abduction nor made serious efforts to rescue the girls after they were taken by Boko Haram fighters.
The Director, Amnesty International in Nigeria, Osai Ojigho, maintained in a statement that the Nigerian authorities have failed in their duty to protect civilians, just as they did in Chibok four years ago.
While describing the inaction as, “inexcusable security lapses”, Ojigho said, “Evidence available to Amnesty International suggests that there are insufficient troops deployed in the area, and that an absence of patrols and the failure to respond to warnings and engage with Boko Haram contributed to this tragedy. The government’s failure in this incident must be investigated and the findings made public and it is absolutely crucial that any investigation focuses on the root causes.”

HOW TO PREVENT BREAK UP, BY ALEXANDER FOX

Dear Ladies,

Have you noticed that the more boyfriends you've gone through, the easier it becomes to sense if your relationship is going south? It's true! All of sudden you notice little annoyances, such as how he's meeting his friend more often, or when he's one phone call short for the week, or if his text messages use one less smiley than usual. And you've probably noticed that the moment you feel these little annoyances, there seems to be no way to avoid an inevitable break-up. And when you DO try to fix things, it only seems to make the situation worse! So is there simply NO HOPE to save a relationship once he starts exhibiting disinterest, boredom, or distance? The answer is no. There IS hope! And I'm here to give it to you. Here's the thing -- too many women make the WRONG MOVES when they try to prevent a break-up from happening. Instead of fixing the relationship, the things they do actually only SHAKE THE FOUNDATIONS of the relationship, weakening it and putting it at risk of collapse. Do you know what the FOUNDATION of any good relationship should be? Of course -- it's LOVE! But "love" can be such a complicated thing. If you ask a million different women about their definition of it, I'm willing to bet you'll get a million different definitions. So I'll make it easier for you and use a different word that I believe pretty much sums it all up: CHEMISTRY. Is It REALLY Chemistry You're Feeling? Chemistry is that little "spark" you feel when you first met your boyfriend. It may have been a tiny spark at first, but it was something you couldn't stop feeling and thinking about. But, when you know how to handle yourself in a relationship, that spark will grow and grow and grow! Take a quick minute to remember what your picture of the "ideal man" was. Was he handsome? Was he rich? Was he smart? Was he kind and mature and level-headed? Now remember the men you fell in love with. Why did you fall madly in love with him, even if he wasn't exactly your idea of your "ideal man?" That's CHEMISTRY at work! "Chemistry" is Mother Nature's way of cluing you in on the men who'd make the best lifelong mates for you. It's hard-wired to every single one of us, and it helps us spot the BEST single men in society -- even if they go against our ideas of what "ideal men" should be. Now before we discuss how "chemistry" can help prevent a break-up, I'd like to clear two common misconceptions that women have about it. Take a few minutes to see if you have these misconceptions too! Misconception #1 - That it's possible to feel "chemistry" towards him -- but not vice-versa. Some of us define "chemistry" as the way we fall madly in love with a guy. When we meet a guy who sweeps us off our feet, we immediately say, "We have chemistry!" -- even if the guy isn't really attracted to us. Nope, that's not quite how chemistry works! When you love a man who doesn't love you back, that's not "chemistry." There's another word for that: "Infatuation." And no matter how strong your infatuation may be, if he doesn't love you back, then the relationship has no hopes of working out. Lesson number one? Chemistry is MUTUAL. If it isn't mutual, it's not chemistry. PERIOD! Misconception #2 - Once the "chemistry" is there, it stays there forever. Another misconception we have about "chemistry" is that if once we establish it with a guy -- once we fall in love with a great man who loves us back -- then it's there to stay. Sorry, that's not how it works, either. Chemistry is something you foster as time goes by. The more carefully and lovingly you nurture it with your boyfriend, the stronger it becomes! But if, like many girlfriends out there, you get complacent, and leave the work to your boyfriend, then it very quickly fizzles out into nothingness. And all of a sudden, your boyfriend finds himself in a relationship with no chemistry! (And THAT'S when he starts losing interest and putting distance between you.) And you know what's worse? Some of us, when the relationship doesn't work out, make the defensive claim: "There wasn't any chemistry in the first place." And we couldn't be more wrong! There WAS chemistry, but we simply didn't do the right things to keep it burning. When we claim "there wasn't any chemistry in the first place," it's like saying we had no control over the relationship -- and it's likely that we WON'T have any control over the relationships we're going to have in the future. Friends, that's NOT true! The "chemistry" CAN be there. We CAN control our relationships. And we CAN enjoy a great relationship with a man if we simply knew the secrets of how love really works! Using Chemistry To Prevent Break-ups I'm telling you right now, W -- right here, right now, you have the power to make a relationship work. You really do! And if you really wanted to prevent your relationship from falling apart, you could. All you need is to know EXACTLY how chemistry works in your relationship. Here's a clue -- it's not about what you SAY. It's about what you DO. And it's not as much as what you DO as it is about who you ARE! In almost a decade of studying dating and relationships, I've realized that certain habits, beliefs, and personality traits actually HELP women maintain a happy relationship. For instance -- when we know how to control our tempers, and avoid nagging and showing any sort of desperation or neediness to our boyfriends, we tend to keep the "chemistry" burning. Or when we switch from being "cautiously optimistic" to being "IRREPRESSIBLY optimistic," we drastically improve our "attractiveness" rating. Friends, chemistry isn't triggered by just one thing. It's triggered by MANY little things.

KEEPING MEN AWAY BY MISTAKE BY ALEXANDER FOX.

Dear Ladies,

Are you still finding it hard to make men like you MORE than just as their friend? There are so many factors that go into a good relationship. It's like a hundred and one things have to fall in to places at the same time before a relationship can have a chance of working out. Some women make the mistake of blaming everything on their boyfriends. It's like if the relationship doesn't work out: "It's because he was scared of commitment." "It's because he didn't know how to make a relationship work." "It's because he couldn't handle me as a successful woman." Sure, sometimes it IS his fault. After all, 90% of all single men out there are only capable of handling CASUAL relationships. SERIOUS relatio nships, on the other hand, are too much for them to handle. But hey, it's not ALWAYS the guy's fault. After all, it takes two people to make a relationship work. And you, my friends, might be doing something that's keeping the relationship from working out. It could be one of a hundred things. You might be too bossy, you might be too needy, or you might be too eager to get into a serious relationship. You might only be TALKING instead of COMMUNICATING. You might have certain misconceptions about love and relationships. Or you might be a little too hurt from past relationships. The list goes on and on! But one thing is important -- you'll have to ADMIT that you play a part in the relationship's success or failure. You'll have to admit that it's NOT your boyfriend's job to make you happy, and that love really IS a two-way street! So, I'd like to invite you to increase your chances of keeping a man -- by increasing your knowledge about love and relationships. Here's a scenario I've seen ha ppen over and over and over -- a woman WAITS until a guy walks into her life. He's nice, he's fun, and he loves her madly. And for a few months or years, they pursue a great relationship. No doubt, he's her "soulmate," right? But after a while, the relationship loses its passion, and they begin to argue. The relationship gets worse and worse until, finally, it ends in a bad break-up. So what should she do? Sit around again and WAIT for the NEXT "soulmate" to come by? I beg to differ! Friends, when you sit and wait for your "knight in shining armor" to rescue you -- chances are you're being too passive. Here's my message -- waiting is always an option. But why wait when there's a more FUN and ACTIVE way to meet "the one?" Too Many Women CHASE After Men Unfortunately, chasing after men is not one of the "active" ways to make things work. If they don't like you, they're going to do everything they can to stay away from you. But even if they DO like you, they're going to think you're the type who's desperate to RUSH into a relationship -- and they're going to stay away from you, too. So how DO you meet good men without scaring them off? Easy -- you'll have to lead them in by example. Think about it -- what do smart guys prefer? Of course. Smart women. What do independent guys prefer? Independent women. What do fun guys prefer? You get the idea! If you're desperate, and you c hase after men, chances are you'll only b e attracting the DESPERATE men, too. If you're lonely, chances are you'll only be attracting lonely men. If you're scared, chances are you'll only be attracting scared men. If you wait around for your "soul mate," chances are you'll only be attracting men who ALSO sit around and wait. I hope you see what I'm getting at here. To attract your ideal man, you'll have to exhibit the traits that LEAD HIM IN. There's just this one little problem -- what ARE the traits that lead the "real men" in? The Traits Of A "Cool" Woman A few articles back, I wrote about how men describe women they're DEEPLY, EMOTIONALLY IN LOVE with. They don't describe her as "smart," "pretty," "sexy," "well-dressed," or any other EXTERNAL quality. That's only for physical attraction. How do they describe her? "She's cool." Other variations? "She's awesome." "She's fantastic." "She's incredible." But let's use "cool" as a baseline! "Cool" women exhibit great personality traits that attract the REAL, mature men, and keep away the immature, non-committing, wussy ones. These personality traits arm a woman with the right words to say, the right thoughts to think, and the right actions to make in ANY situation with a man. And men simply can't HELP but fall madly in love with such women! I hope you don't mind -- but I made it my personal lifelong mission to make a "cool" woman out of you and the rest of my readers. No joke!

YOU HAVE BETRAYED DEMOCRACY AND PROMOTED GENOCIDE - PROF. HAGHER

AMB. HAGHER’S OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI ON THE BENUE GENOCIDE.
Jan 5th, 2018.
HIS EXCELLENCY,
President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
President and Commander-in-Chief
Of the Armed Forces of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja

Your Excellency Mr. President,
YOU HAVE BETRAYED DEMOCRACY AND PROMOTED GENOCIDE
I would have loved to wish you a happy new year, but I am not a hypocrite. I am not happy and nobody in Benue is happy today, because many of our citizens did not have a happy new 2018. Genocide on citizens of Nigeria has escalated in earnest in Benue State. This genocide has turned their happiness to nightmare and death. Let me also apologize for making this letter public. It is not in my character. In this case there is an emergency and urgency, which cannot wait.
I am pained that you ignored my advice in my private memorandum to you dated 30th July 2016. I had warned you of the possibility of a horrendous genocide in Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Southern Kaduna, and Southern Adamawa States. I asked you to be proactive and stop the genocide that has been ongoing but which would burst out in the open and shock the world within 18 months. Your office replied my letter on September, 28th 2016, and the reply was couriered to me in the United States, thanking me “immensely” and giving me the assurances that the advice would be heeded.
With the current situation on ground, I regret to now inform you that it is seventeen months since my warning and prediction and your government did nothing to pre-empt or prevent the genocide. The nomadic terrorists have finally accelerated the ethnic cleansing in Benue State. They have strategically moved against the Tiv, the largest minority ethnicity in northern Nigeria. These perpetrators believe that if they can ethnic cleanse the Tiv, then nobody can stand in their way to possess the land and carve a new geo-polity and demography for the middle-belt.
1. Now that you have allowed the genocide in the Middle Belt to go on unimpeded you have betrayed your campaign promise to Nigerians that your government ‘‘will always act in time and not allow problems to irresponsibly fester’’. In allowing the Benue genocide to take place your government has acted irresponsibly and has allowed problems to fester and failed to act on time. You have also failed to lead from the front; giving the impression that centrifugal forces around you are dictating vicious anti-people agenda!

2. Mr. President, the protection of lives and property of the citizens is more important than your war against corruption! The protection of lives of citizens is the most sacred responsibility of the state and your presidency. Your government has failed woefully in this regard. Mr President there is no greater corruption than the government looking the other way while the strong bullies and kills the weak with impunity and pleasure!
3. Your Excellency, in your passion (monomania, I think!) to rid the country of corruption, you have totally ignored nation building and ended up with a very divided country. You have failed your immediate Northern constituency by your inability, failure or lack of the political will to end northern poverty through measures that enhance school enrolment, promote girl-child education, and revive dead industries. You became Nigeria’s president on the altar of northern unity when the northern minorities abandoned President Goodluck Jonathan to vote for you. You have now desecrated that altar. By refusing to arrest those that brutally butchered defenseless innocent Benue women and children, you have imperiled northern unity and taken sides with evil.
4. Many Nigerians think you have failed the country by the lack of a clear vision and a lack of capacity to provide needed infrastructure and a composite holistic development; more significantly, they think you have failed to institute a political culture of integrity. You are often compared with the lone King Sisyphus of Ephyra who was punished by the gods to roll an immense border up the hill, only to watch it roll back down, then condemned to repeat the same rolling action forever. This is the picture people have in mind of your war against endemic corruption. You honestly deserve pity and prayers, but certainly not support for a second term.
5. Nobody can deny that you still have a horde of admirers, which still look up to you with great admiration; however, the Benue genocide seriously questions your integrity, and your capacity to lead a plural modern state. Is there a rule of law in this country? Why does the Miyetti Allah act with so much impunity? Is this because this terrorist group claims you as their life patron? Do not accept the clamor of those who for their personal political reasons urge you to contest in the 2019 election to be a second term president! Mr. President, please rise above the impression being given that you are just another power obsessed and hungry politician!
6. Step aside and open the political space for another person to continue your war against corruption with a more comprehensive development program that Nigeria needs and deserves. For now, modernize infrastructure and try to banish poverty. And while your party campaigns for 2019, take a sabbatical from partisanship and build national unity, good governance and concentrate on getting rid of Boko Haram and the Herdsmen Terrorists. After all, great people are not great for winning elections; rather they are known to be great by the legacy they leave behind. With what legacy do you wish the country to remember you for? It is unfortunate that family members of those that were hacked to death will remember you as the genocide president!
Your Excellency Mr. President,

I remain respectfully Sir,

Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher. Ph.D. OON. FSONTA, FIMC, CMC.

President African Leadership Institute USA.
Former High Commissioner to Canada
Former Ambassador to Mexico
Former Minister (2 times)

Maina: What they don't want Buhari to know

*Who is the devil between the persecutors and Maina? - By Olajide Fashikun

Believe it or not. This is strict be nice backly media trial. QED. I am asking if Mr President was told these seven issues which nobody fighting Maina would want him to know. For the sake of posterity, I will ask and let the seven issues be public.
I know the pension matter so well. I and Danlami Nmodu of www.newsdiaryonline.com met working on the pension scandal. Ironically, both of us graduated from the University of Ilorin. He worked in Tell Magazine while I was in TheNews Magazine.
We broke the first story’s details. At a point, I got calls to back off the report. I refused. I had my three-week Camry car crushed by a strange truck that massively rammed into the vehicle. Checks revealed where it came from.
I was attacked 10 days later with a gun. All they took was my 15-inch Apple laptop with a footnote: “go and continue writing all those nonsense you dey write on us.”
Now. Having established my depth. These are fundamental truths no one will tell President Buhari. Having forced Mr President to dance to a massive media barrage which painted Abdulrasheed Maina as blacker than Lucifer, who will tell President Buhari these truth like I do know? I owe the public and I thus, ask.
Did anyone tell Mr President that on 2nd November 2013, that achieve its objective of deceiving the Senate and Nigerians, the Senate Joint Committee Chairman, Sen. Alloysius Etuk accused the Chairman of the Task Team, Abdulrasheed .A. Maina, of embezzling, Stealing, misappropriating and mismanagement of N195billion of Pension funds on live television between 2005 and 2010, belonging to the following offices: Nitel Pensions, Nipost Pensions, NEPA Pension, Railways Pension, NPA Pensions, NNPC Pensions and all the Pensions offices in Nigeria.
Maina’s committee never existed until 2010. Senate lied.
These institutions: Nitel Pensions, Nipost Pensions, NEPA Pension, Railways Pension, NPA Pensions, NNPC Pensions NEVER had anything to do with Maina’s committee. Senate lied again.
Did they informed Mr President that the Senate Committee headed by Etuk was alleged to have collected N3billion in dollars from the people Maina caught for pension thieving?
A petition written against the Joint Committee Chairman Senator Etuk by some aides of one of the suspected Pension thieves, Shaibu Sani Teidi, is before the EFCC and ICPC detailing the grand conspiracy against the PRTT and its Chairman;
Why has the petition not received any action but instead ONLY the Chairman is being hounded by the operatives of EFCC;
EFCC CANNOT investigate nor prosecute Maina because they were a member of the Inter-ministerial Task Team working on the Pension Reform;
Did they tell Mr President that Goodluck Jonathan administration without due process and obedience to the Civil Service Rules dismissed Maina for being absent for three days?
while his life was under threat following gun-shot attack on his person in front of Head of Civil Service Office, where his office was located in February, 2013.
He was shot at with five bullets on the car he was in a day after the Senate railroaded the Executive against him;
Did they informed Mr President that Based on perceived injustice and lack of fair hearing by the Senate Joint Committee on Establishment and Public Service and States and Local Government Administration co-chaired by Sen. Alloysius Etuk and Sen. Kabiru Gaya under the leadership of Distinguished Senator David B. A. Mark, the PRTT and its Chairman (Maina) took the 7th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to court at Abuja Federal High Court in a suit Ref: FH/ABJ/C5/65/2013 where it obtained a favorable judgment on 23rd March, 2013.
The judge in his ruling held that Senate (7th National Assembly) failed to meet the constitutional provisions of Section 88 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
The judge ordered Maina to be restored back to the civil service;
Till date, the Senate has failed to appeal the judgment of the Court or reverse its decision upon which it passed a resolution for the Chairman of the PRTT (Maina) to be sacked from the Civil Service. It has failed to comply with the provisions of Section 88.
Did they tell Mr President that while the PRTT was making efforts at recovering over N3 trillion Pensions Funds using its intelligence know-how, then Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister of Economy without off-setting our expenses in line with Presidential Directives of 23rd October, 2012, established the Pension Transitional Arrangement Department (PTAD).
Iweala co-opted most of the Deputy-Directors including Mr. Kaigama (D.D Accounts of PRTT) among others to the new structure;
Maina out of 13 members is the only person accused of stealing, misappropriating and mismanaging over N195billion of pension fund.
Later, when Kabiru Gaya recanted the N195billion story, they changed the charge to $2million!
Today and sadly, the Income Salaries and Wages Commission approved a special salary scheme for staff of PTAD with the DG earning as much as N43, 848,513.00 per annum over and above the salary of President as approved by Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Did they also remember to tell Mr President that the then Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister of Economy have failed to account the balance of the N282billion retrieved by Maina’s team (in the CBN) from where N74billion was factored into the National Budget of 2012.
(a) Did they also tell Mr President that Senator Kabiru Gaya told Nigerians via interview he granted the Sun Newspaper of 3rd April, 2016 with caption “Buhari’s One year better than PDP’s 16 years – Sen. Kabiru Gaya” to discharge Maina of the unfounded allegation of stealing, misappropriating and mismanaging N195billion between 2005 and 2010 even when the PRTT was not in existence.
His words: “You remember I was a member of the 6th and 7th Senate and I am still a member of the 8th National Assembly. During the 7th Senate, we were able to do a probe of the Pension Scam. I was a co-chair of that committee. During that investigation, we were able to discover N195BN stocked in accounts of various Departments, Agencies and Ministries (MDAs) for Pension and they were not using those monies.
Did they tell Mr President that Maina is the ONLY Civil Servant out of 13 members of PRTT that is under prosecution? Where are other members of the Task Team?
Could he have singlehandedly stolen those monies without the knowledge of his team when recoveries are made in team movements;
Yet, all monies paid had to be signed by the Head of Service from where the CBN pays into commercial banks and to beneficiaries;
(b) Did they tell Mr President that there were complaints in writing of a subsisting case in the Industrial Court brought by Mr. Abdulrasheed A. Maina (Chairman, Pension Reform Task Team) against his illegal dismissal from service by the Office of Head of Service and Federal Civil Service Commission, to the office of the Attorney-General, the chief legal officer of the nation, who reviewed the matter and decided to obey the court pronouncements directed that Mr. Maina be re-instated as ruled by Justice Adamu Bello in his judgment of 27th March, 2013, since there is no subsisting appeal by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or any other interested party;
If the President was told these seven posers we won’t be where we are. Two, the media trial of Mr Maina is certainly beyond what the public is made to believe. His return means that some folks whose activities have not been exposed will be possibly exposed.
Was one of the 43 persons under prosecution not a major shareholder in a large media organisation in the country. He stole from poor pensioners and used the proceeds to buy into the newspaper."

El-Rufai : Why I strucked, By Muhammad Lawal Shehu Molash.

September 25, 2017

I have been indaunted with calls from most parts of the country, in connection with my present stand on Elrufai’s government. On a personal note,I have been Elrufai’s fan for almost two decades, to the extent that i read his “ACCIDENTAL PUBLIC SERVANT” more than 50 times.
But in developed democracies, vibrant oppositions are welcomed to put the people in power under check. Eight months ago, I was an unrepentant Elrufaits. But not any more. My position is hinged on the fact that, certain things are wrong with the way governance has been reduced to. How come the official houses of the state house of Assembly members were sold cheaply and secretly without the OPEN BIDDING SYSTEM, as it was done in the case of the civil servants? How comes a government that was massively voted to ensure that the rule of law prevails, will allow Sole Adminstrators as local government chairmen, when the constitution declared them ILLEGAL? Is it constitutionally right to refuse to conduct the local government elections on the vague excuse of waiting for some super machines from China? It seems the governor does not even trust the card reader that ushered him into the government. Why collect taxes on behalf of the local councils?
Why do you have to abolished the INDIGENSHIP in Kaduna state and embarked upon a “WHITE ELEPHANT ” venture called “RESIDENCY CARD? Is Kaduna state more cosmopolitan than Lagos and Kano? The civil servants have had to contend with endless verification for about 18 times! Perhaps, someone, somewhere is benefiting from this verification that hav left over 20,000 workers without some salaries of several months. In Addition, No person that retired after 2015 has collected his gratuity. Another angle which I premised my opposition to Malam Nasiru Elrufai, is the much hyped Educational “Revolution ” in Kaduna state, where the manpower aspect, arguably the most important, in any genuine “revolution ” has been neglected. It is a fact that a GOOD TEACHER can impact knowledge to his students, even under tree shades.
The use of CONSULTANTS in almost every sector in Kaduna state is one area i am not comfortable with. In any case, they mostly help in making a state governor to misprioritise, misplace, misapplied public funds.
Furthermore, our party, the APC, is facing extinction owing to its non conformity with the INTERNAL DEMOCRACY MECHANISM, set in place by our revered leader, President BUHARI. Pointer to this fact, emerged from the Kangaroo delegates elections and the recent charade, called ENDORSEMENT. We should also be mindful of the fact that it is only in KADUNA STATE in whole of the North West that we have a Former Vice president, PDP National Chairman and the only PDP Senator from the Zone. The so called achievements in employment is laced with fallacies.
Kaduna state has about 1500 health centres. But of the much celebrated 255 health centres, only 6 are completed after 2 years! The 10 billion spent on school feeding within eight months, should have been channelled into providing decent healthcare centres or complete the 300 bed specialist hospital started by Namadi Sambo. Kaduna state, with about 5 million people, has less than 200 medical Doctors and the governor is celebrating the repainting of some PHCs that even fall below the minimum requirements of a standard primary health care centre.
In any democratic clime, human capital development is one of the major indicators of the success or failure of governance. But in a situation where a government is marketing poverty to its electorates and declaring them unfit to participate in rendering even the most elementary of them all like WASTE COLLECTION, then it is most unfortunate. A certain Yoruba lady has to be “imported” for that purpose.
Based on campaign promises, he’s performing below expectations, which is why am disappointed with the quality of roads being churned out in the name of “INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS.”The roads can not withstand two raining seasons. In two years, not a SINGLE primary school teacher was employed.
Hundreds have either been sacked or frustrated into retirement. No provision of materials: Chalk, Registers, Broom, Cutlass and he is “committed to revamping education”
In Kaduna, the running of a close circuit leadership which negates the tenets of democracy seems to be the order of the day. Of the six top appointments, the Minister from Kaduna state is Elrufai’s cousin, Ambassador is his cousin, SSG is his close friend, Chief of staff is his close friend. Political adviser is his very close friend. And they all come from Zaria, in addition to two commissioners, head of service and several SAs and heads of parastatals.
If anyone think that the above detailed explanation does not “ring a bell” then I rest my case.
