Over 200 killed in the bomb blast at the Kano Central mosque yesterday.

Over 200 people were reportedly killed in the bomb
blast that occurred yesterday afternoon at the Kano
Central Mosque where the Emir of Kano usually leads
prayers. Some eye-witnesses and rescue officials put
the figure at 300, making it one the deadliest bomb
attacks in Nigeria.
According to eyewitnesses, three bombs went off one
after the other at the 10,000 capacity Mosque during
the Friday Jumat prayers. Two went off inside the
Mosque, and one outside. And when people tried to
flee the scene, gun men opened fire on worshipers.
Many of the casualties were children who couldn’t run
as fast. Some were trampled to death in the mayhem
that ensued.
When normalcy returned hours after the attack, the
dead and wounded, said to be over 250, were taken
to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital and the
Nasarawa Hospital.
The Emir of Kano was out of the country when the
incident occurred. He’d left the night before.
President Jonathan also cancelled his meeting with
Nigerians entertainers at the Creative Industry event
last night because of the blast.

Nigerian musician, popularly known as Maheeada has revealed why she pose nude.

Naija bad girl and musician, Caroline Sam, popularly
known as Maheeda has burst the bubbles.
Maheeda
The self-acclaimed ‘goddess of X’who many Nigerians
have overtime been seen as a sex symbol because of
the way she showcases her nude on social media
networks has spoken up. Maheeda has revealed some
things you probably might not knoe about her.

In this new interview with Encomium, the mother of one
and wife talked about how she grew up as an orphan,
how she stayed with a family that the man of the house
wanted to rape her, how spiritual she is, how she is
jealous of Tiwa Savage and Muna and many more.

Read excerpts below:

Who is Caroline Sam?

Caroline Sam is also known as Maheeda. I grew up in
the North and lost my parents at a very tender age. I am
a mother, an orphan and a musician.

Majority know you as Maheeda, how did you come
about the name?

I gave myself the name, Maheeda because of the
meaning. According to Muslims, it means Blessing. But I
chose Maheeda because I heard a story that Maheeda
was a vessel filled with gold and some people
discovered it and started prospering from the gold. I
believe I am the Maheeda, full of gold and Nigerians
would discover me.
You were once a gospel artiste, what happened?
I think what happened was just spiritual maturity. At a
stage in your life, you have to take a break and grow up
or else everything will just be wrong. I needed to grow
spiritually. Christians call it born again. I am standing in
the gap not for Christians or for Muslims.

At the point you attained spiritual maturity, did it
work?

It worked. I just discovered a light because in every light
there is a greater light. Some Christians just stop
halfway, that is why they remain poor but you have to
make something out of it. You need to study well if you
really need something and God will show you how to
make it.

You sound very religious?

Yeah, of course, I am religious because I still believe in
God and nobody can take that away from me. Jesus is
the best thing that happened to my life.
Maheeda and daughter
Do you belong to any religious sect?
No. This Sunday I go to Christ Embassy, next Sunday I
go to House on the Rock or even Redeemed. I am just
anywhere Jesus is. When it comes to my music, I am in
the middle because I have fans that are Christians,
Muslims, lesbians and gays.
As a born again, it appears you don’t have a problem
exposing your body. Why is that?
True, I don’t have a problem doing that but I think it is
because of my job and I know most Christians won’t
understand it. But I just believe that this is what I have
to do, to get attention, especially when it comes to my
job and I just believe His grace is enough for me. He
loves me more than my ‘nakedness’. If you see God as
a Father because He sees you as a daughter, I would
not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill
you. That is how I see God. He understands me. He
hates me but He loves me at the same time.

I understand you are married, are you still with your
husband and does he support your career?

I am still very much in my marriage and my husband
does not have any problem with what I am doing. He
supports me.

Can you tell us a bit about your husband?

I am sorry, I am leaving him out of this conversation
because that is what he wants and I respect his
decisions.
In your recent video, Naija Bad Girl, why were you
naked?
I did the video naked because I want people including
the media to talk about it and that is happening already.

Are you thinking of promoting ‘porn’ through your
video?

No, I am not but maybe I am promoting it in a different
way. My intention is for people to talk and to get more
attention and I did it and got what I wanted.

From observations, it was discovered that there is a
kind of rivalry between yourself and Afrocandy. What
is going on?

I really don’t know, maybe she feels threatened. I used
to feel threatened as well, it is normal. Sometimes I feel
jealous of Muna, Tiwa Savage. I feel like why are you
having all those things which I don’t have. It is just
normal but it is the ability to control it that really
matters.
Maheeda and her husband

Can you tell us about your music?

So far, I’m loving my music. It is a pity that it did not
really give me what I wanted but when I took off my
clothes, I got what I wanted. So, I am trying to see if I
would get back such trust for my music again. That is
why we are working very hard on my singles and videos
to give my music that push again.

Do you see yourself coming out with an album very
soon?

For my album, I’m thinking of this year. I can’t say yet,
it depends on how the singles are doing, what my fans
want basically. Until they start shouting “can we have an
album?” But right now, they are saying Maheeda, we
need another video.

Recently, on Instagram you posted a picture of you
and your 13 year-old daughter. Can you tell us a bit
about her?

Her name is Divine Favour. I gave her that name
because when I was pregnant, I was 17 and was almost
like a virgin who did not really know how to wash
herself. I went to church and told God, I want you to do
me a favour, I want to give birth normally and it worked
exactly how I asked God to do it. I gave her that name
because I asked for favour and I got it. I really want her
out of my life drama because I want her to take
decisions. This was not what my mom did, she was a
very quiet and reserved person and look at me, I’m like
a mad woman but she did not choose it for me. I made
my decision and whatever comes with it, I would face it.
So, I want to teach my daughter how to make a choice,
stand by it and see what comes out of it. Whatever I do
now, good or bad, I don’t want her to follow my
footsteps. If good, fine but if bad she will not take it. I
am not afraid of risks.

So tell us, where do you make your money?

(Laughs) I make my money from shows, invitations.
Some people invite me and I get paid just to sit down
and drink, take pictures for birthday parties, weddings
and many more. Sometimes, I perform, sometimes I
don’t. I also do modelling. In Holland, I did two
modelling jobs, one cost about N2 million and the other
was close to a million naira.
What kind of modelling do you do?
I am into nude modelling and sculpture modelling where
one is moulded naked.

It seems you have not learnt from your past (having a
baby early, being an orphan and also going into
prostitution), with the way you have been parading
yourself?

Sober? I have come to that point of my life where I
don’t judge people. The way you learn is different from
the way I learn. The way you see things is also different
from the way I see things. If you think someone is doing
something the wrong way, why not pray for them
instead of criticizing them, because the more you
criticize in bad faith, the more you are destroying them.
Bottomline is that we are not all the same. Maybe this is
my own way of learning. I may not learn the way you
did, just give me time because you never know what
will happen at least. When there is life, there is hope.

Is your husband the father of your child, tell us about
your love story?

We have been married for almost two years now and he
is not the father of my child. I met my husband while I
was working in a bar in Port Harcourt. The first time we
met, he was new in town and I got him acquainted in
Nigeria. I told him my story and he was moved to tears
and he said to me, ‘Don’t worry, I will help you’ and
since then he has kept his promise.

Do you see yourself doing music with other music
artistes?

Yes, very soon. I really like Phyno, Eva, Muna and Tiwa
Savage. I want to hear Tiwa Savage’s golden voice
when she sings and I rap, maybe she would get ‘naked’
too (laughs). Olamide as the Badoo and me as the Naija
bad girl, maybe 2Face but he is just too sweet. I don’t
know how you can join a sweet boy to a bad girl.

Did you grow up on the street or in an orphanage?

No, I grew up with a good Samaritan woman and her
husband until I became of age and her husband wanted
to rape me.

Boko Haram killd 5 soldiers, 30 hunters in road side bombing.

Yola— No fewer than 35 people, including five military
personnel and a local hunter, were said to have been killed
by a bomb explosion yesterday morning around Mararaba-
Mubi area of Adamawa State.
An eyewitness told newsmen in Yola, the state capital, that
a combined team of the military and hunters were on
routine patrol of the area following their successful
recapture of Mubi town when the bomb planted by the
insurgents exploded, killing 35 of them instantly.
According to the eyewitness, the scene of the blast was a
busy area where people gathered to transact business,
adding that the explosive might have been planted there
overnight while it went off in the morning as people
gathered there.
The eyewitness, who spoke to newsmen on phone, said
the military had converted the venue of the blast to a
checkpoint, since people were always at the spot in large
numbers.
According to him, “my house is some metres from the
scene of the incident. I stood outside my compound
watching the suburb and all of a sudden, I heard a loud
bang which shook the entire surroundings. The few people
who were returning to the area started running away and
the area was immediately cordoned off by the military.”
Scene of the blast. AFP
The explosion prompted the military authorities to declare
the area “a no go place” and advised returning villagers
and passers-by to be extra cautious along the routes.
The authorities also cautioned the people to be wary of
strange objects and polythene bags within their reach,
advising that they might be explosives fashioned out to
look attractive for unsuspecting victims.
Meanwhile, hundreds of local hunters keeping vigil with the
military in the recovered areas of Adamawa State have
vowed to ensure that the sect members are completely
chased out
The hunters, who were returning to the recaptured areas of
Mubi and its environs, told newsmen, yesterday, in Yola
that their major pre-occupation now was to ensure that the
area is completely secured for the inhabitants to return to
their homes.
The leader of the hunters, Young Moris, pledged that they
will do everything to ensure that Michika and Madagali are
equally rid of the insurgents very soon.

Brazil legend, Pele in hospital. Transferred to a special care unit.

Brazil legend Pele has been transferred to a special care
unit following treatment for a urinary infection.
The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo stated the 74-
year-old three-time World Cup winner had been moved
after suffering "clinical instability".
Reports had suggested Pele, admitted on Monday, was in
intensive care.
Pele, a World Cup winner in 1958, 1962 and 1970, was
initially discharged from hospital on 13 November after
surgery to remove kidney stones.
It is understood that while treatment in special care is
above the level of routine care, it is less serious than
intensive care, and the Brazilian - widely regarded as the
greatest player of all time - can still receive visitors.
Local media says it is possible Pele picked up an infection
during the procedure to remove kidney stones and that the
current treatment is usually straightforward.
Pele scored a world record total of 1,281 goals in 1,363
games during his 21-year career. The Fifa Player of the
Century won 91 caps for Brazil and scored 77 goals.
He made 14 appearances at World Cup finals, scoring 12
goals, and picked up the the Fifa Golden Ball award as the
best player at the 1970 tournament.

Reps fix date to impeache Jonathan.

Honorable members at the House of Representatives
have fixed next Wednesday to start impeachment
proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was gathered by Vanguard on Tuesday that the
members of the lower chamber are on the same page
with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach
Jonathan, and that the process will began immediately it
reconvenes next Wednesday.

Crisis
President Goodluck Jonathan
It was gathered that the assemblymen coordinating the
impeachment process have identified over 50
constitutional violations against the President, which
would form part of the impeachment notice.
A source within the House of Representatives, who
made this known, said both chambers have resolved to
work together for the common good of the country by
impeaching President Jonathan for “incompetence,
corruption and unprecedented impunity.”
The source further explained that the impeachment plot
against Jonathan was not a partisan affair, noting that
lawmakers from all the political parties have identified
with the cause and will not give up until the President is
sent packing.
“I’m sure you read the reports today that senators are
going to move against Jonathan. Now you can confirm
that the impeachment thing is not about APC. It is a
non-partisan cause. We have all resolved that the man
(President Jonathan) must go. Never in the history of
Nigeria has a leader displayed such crass incompetence
as we have seen in President Jonathan. It is glaring and
you can feel it. Mr. President, with due respect, has
shown that he is not capable of running this country.
That is the basic truth,” he said.

Meet Barr Mark Jacob Nzamah(Wanene? ), a Senatorial aspirant of Kaduna South senatorial zone. A man of timber and calibre!

My great Gurara Forumite, today I present to you a titan. A
man of inestimable value to the SK cause and struggle.
When GF began, he was the first to look into the future by
sprinkling manure on it when he dipped his hands deep
down his pockets for it.
He stood behind CEDRA too in her formative years. He
encourages the youths to remain focussed and steadfast by
constantly throwing radiant smiles and friendly gestures. Men
and women, young and old, the haves and have nots,
Leaders and the led, Nice, hospitable, loving, caring, decent
and religious people of Southern Kaduna..........,,,,,,,,,,,
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you today, my
Hall Of Fame
With no other
But
Barrister Mark Jacob Nzamah.
Here is a humble, forthright and assertive man in his own
right. An epitome of a visionary leader. Here is an eloquent,
vibrant and gallant man who takes on matter head on.
Mark Jacob is a lawyer, a sportsman, a team player, a
demystified politician, a social mechanic, and an egalitarian.
His name alone is phenomenal in both the Southern Kaduna
geopolitics and in the state political sphere as well as the
national level.
I have met and familiarised with this personality and I have
been able to dig deep into his tour du force as well as his
roots. Beside, his senatorial ambition, makes it easier for me
to dig even deeper.
Mark Jacob Nzamah has served Kaduna State, the PDP and
the nation at large in various capacities. His strategic political
endowment and comparative strength is his well-articulated
knowledge of Southern Kaduna as a geographical entity and
the district of problems it bellies on one hand and the
reservoir of both the vast administrative knowledge and the
creative skills to tackle them on the other.
As a lawyer and a politician, he has been involved in a lot of
advocacy, crisis management and conflict resolution. He
offered himself for a free legal services to the Gbagyis over
several disputed farmlands between the indegent Gbagyi
people against the Chief of Jere, Dr. Sa’ad Usman in the
1990s.
He was also a member of the team of Southern Kaduna
lawyers that worked tirelessly before the Okadigbo led
Tribunal after the Zangon-Kataf ethno-political/religious
conflict in 1992 which work salvaged the likes of Zamani
Lekwot and other Southern Kaduna elites that were at the
dungeon of an autocratic military regime.
In 2000 Mark Jacob Nzamah also availed himself together
with other Southern Kaduna Lawyers to defend the Southern
Kaduna people that were alleged to have a hand in the post
Sharia crisis in Kaduna. It is on record that in the heat of the
proceedings, Mark Jacob Nzamah had to enter the witness
box and present the SOKAPU Memo on behalf of all the
people.
His testimony which lasted a record two days (the longest by
one witness) set the tone for a balanced consideration of the
issues and provided valuable material for the Commission of
Inquiry’s final report /recommendations and helped
Government to take decisions. He has provided a means of
livelihood to a
lot of upcoming Southern Kaduna youths; he equally has an
immense record in human capital development, he has
offered employment to our teeming youths in both the state
and the federal levels of government.
During his days as a student and even in his practice as a
lawyer, Mark Jacob Nzamah has played a vital role in
awakening the consciousness of Southern Kaduna people on
the deepening concern of marginalization and social
denigration. In many instances, he argued for genuine and
legitimate action as a fundamental unalienable right as
citizens.
From my research into this personality, I have learnt that
Mark Jacob Nzamah was born on the 23rd DECEMBER,
1963 to Mr. Jacob Nzamah Ahuwan and Mrs. Nna Jacob
Nzamah Ahuwan in Zonkwa (formerly in Kachia Local
Government of Kaduna State). He attended the LEA Primary
School No.5 Zonkwa from 1969-1975 where he obtained the
School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Government
Secondary School, Funtua from 1976-1981.
Having sat and performed creditably well in the General
Certificate of Education (GCE) examination, he obtained the
(GCE) O’level Certificate and by 1982 he was admitted into
the then College of Advanced Studies (CAS), Zaria for the
IJMB programme. On completion in 1984, he proceeded to
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and was admitted into the
Faculty of Law in 1985 and graduated in 1988 with an LL.B
(HONS). As a fundamental requisite in law practice. Mark
Jacob Nzamah went to the Nigerian Law school, Lagos from
1988-1989 and afterward, he was called up for the
mandatory 1-year National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) from
1989-1990
Mark Jacob Nzamah started a private practice in Kaduna
initially on his own before he was employed in the Law firm
of Yohanna Madaki and CO in 1991. He was with Yohanna
Madaki and Co until 1993 when he set up his own private
firm JACOB NZAMAH and CO with its base in Kaduna.
He was in the SDP,DPN and zero Party activities. By 1999
he was a pioneer member of the PDP and was visible in all
foundation activities of the Party. It is on record that his car
carried the first flags of the PDP for distribution to all Party
Offices in all the Local Governments in Southern Kaduna. All
through these period he never contested election nor was he
given any Appointment until 2003 when he was appointed
the company secretary and legal adviser to the Kaduna State
Markets Development Company LTD. After a successful stint
at the Markets Company, he was appointed secretary,
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) North West Zone in 2005.
While discharging his duties in the PDP North West Zonal
Office, he was appointed the Attorney General and
Commissioner for Justice, Kaduna State a position he held
until 2007. Through hard work and strict professional ethics,
Mark Jacob Nzamah was later appointed the National Legal
adviser of the PDP from 2007,which position he held until
2009.
Having served the PDP at the national level, Mark Jacob
Nzamah returned to private legal practice. He was thus
engaged until 2011 when he was Appointed Special Adviser
to the Minister of Aviation on (Legal Matters ). In 2012 he
was Appointed Director; Legal Services, Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria . ( FAAN ). His track record in his
chosen career is excellent, his appointment in 2011 as the
Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation met diverse
expectations. His impressive performance as the Special
adviser to the Minister of Aviation was used as a springboard
for elevation to the Director (Legal Services) Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in 2012.
As a lawyer, he is actively involved in the activities of the law
profession; he is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association
(NBA), member of the Christian Lawyers Fellowship,
Chairman Kaduna State Handball Association, member
Crocodile Club Kaduna, he was the 1st Vice President and
Acting President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN).
He is currently the executive Director, Commonwealth
Handball Association.
Mark Jacob Nzamah is happily married to Mrs Passuma
Palang Jacob and the marriage is blessed with 5 (five)
children. Mark Jacob Nzamah is seeking to become the
Senator, zone three in Kaduna. From antecedents, track
records, merits and demerits, the senatorial cap rightly fit
Mark Jacob by my assertion. He who the cap fits, let him
wear it.
May God continue to bless and protect Mark Jacob Nzamah.
Who next? Keep A Date With Me.

Fayose restores Oni's privileges as Former Governor.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has restored all the
privileges of former Governor Segun Oni, whose election
was annulled by an Appeal Court in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Oni’s successor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, stopped the privileges
enjoyed by Oni on the grounds that a court had declared
his election illegal.
Fayose was impeached on October 16, 2006 for
misconduct.
A statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday by Fayose’s Chief
Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said the governor took
the step in appreciation of the contributions of past leaders
in the state.
“Governor Ayo Fayose is restoring all the privileges of
former Governor Segun Oni. His portrait, which was
removed from the Governor’s Office by former Governor
Kayode Fayemi, has been returned.
“All those who served with him and whose portraits were
removed by the past administration such as former chief
press secretaries, among others, have been returned.
“It was the Fayemi’s administration that even stopped their
financial entitlements when it made the House of Assembly
to pass a bill that Oni and Fayose were not due for such.
“The excuse they gave was that Fayose did not complete
his tenure and Oni’s tenure was unknown to law because
the court removed him from office.
“The Fayose’s administration appreciates the contributions
of those who have led the state in the past and would not
in any way rubbish such.
“We are ready to acknowledge all and would not as a
result of political differences rubbish what people have
done in the past,” the statement said.
Adelusi expressed the readiness of the governor to provide
a leadership that would eventually rank him among
statesmen in Ekiti.

A 27 year old man is facing a felony menace charge for pointing a banana at police officers.

A 27-year-old man is facing a felony menace charge
after two western Colorado police officers said he
pointed a banana at them which they thought was a
gun. Associated Press reports:
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports
27-year-old Nathan Rolf Channing, of
Fruitvale was arrested Sunday.
According to an arrest affidavit, Mesa
County deputies Joshua Bunch and Donald
Love said they feared for their lives even
though they saw that the object was yellow.
Bunch wrote in the affidavit that he has
seen handguns in many shapes and colors.
He wrote that Love was drawing his service
weapon when Channing yelled, “It’s a
banana!”
The deputies say Channing told them he
was doing a trial run for a planned YouTube
video and he thought it would “lighten the
holiday spirit.”

Again, Obj attacks President Goodluck Jonathan; Says 'When the head is rotten, the whole body is useless'

A week after he rated President Goodluck Jonathan’s
performance as ‘below average’, ex-President
Olusegun Obasanjo has again launched a verbal
missile at the present administration, saying its actions
put Nigeria’s democracy at great risk.
Speaking at a book launch in honor of the pioneer
chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and
other related Offenses Commission, ICPC, Justice
Mustapha Akanbi (retd.) at the Sheraton Hotels and
Towers, Abuja on Wednesday, Obasanjo, who was
Chairman of the occasion advised Mr. Jonathan to
stop encouraging “verbal violence, which may not
physically hurt, but has ways of degenerating into
physical violence”.
The former president, who warned that the greatest
undoing of any administration would be the attempt to
destroy opposition of all sorts, which invariably means
destroying democracy, said: “Management of
democracy without resorting to brute force and
dictatorial tendencies must be cultivated”.
He continued: “As a leader, you must not deliberately
do evil or condone evil. You should know that you will
one day give account to God; you may cover up here,
but before God, there is no cover up”.
Mr. Obasanjo also took on the administration in other
areas such as the handling of the ravaging Boko
Haram insurgency, corruption, the economy and youth
unemployment.
According to him, Boko Haram is not out to “frustrate
anyone’s political efforts” and lamented that it took
President Jonathan years to fully grasp the motive of
the insurgents.
On corruption, perceived to have grown to
unimaginable proportions under the present
dispensation, the ex-Nigerian leader simply said:
“When the head is rotten, the whole body is useless”.
On state of the economy, Chief Obasanjo said Nigeria
would continue to sink deeper and that the federal
government is not telling Nigerians the whole truth
about the state of the economy.
According to him, “the economy is in doldrums, if not
in reverse”.
As of the time of publishing this report, the Presidency
is yet to respond to Mr. Obasanjo’s latest statement.

Passengers got down to push Plane stuck in Ice in Siberia

Passengers on a flight in Siberia were asked
to do just that on Tuesday when
temperatures dropped to -52 at the Igarka
airport, according to LifeNews. And as the
clip above shows, pushing a frozen plane is
apparently no big deal over there —
because the passengers handled it the way
most of us would handle pushing a car
stuck in the mud.
But not everyone was out pushing, as there
are also photos showing the effort from
inside the aircraft.
The aircraft is a Tupolev Tu-134 , according
to Kp.ru, which said the plane eventually
took off on what was an otherwise
uneventful flight.
Hopefully everyone got an extra drink
coupon for helping out.

Senators initiate move to impeach Jonathan.

Nigeria Senate
Some Peoples Democratic Party’s senators
on Monday started impeachment moves
against President Goodluck Jonathan over
what they described as the high level of
impunity and corruption allegedly being
condoned by his administration.
Investigations by our correspondent revealed
that the PDP senators had started compiling
impeachable offences against the President.
An All Progressives Congress member of the
Senate, who confided the development in our
correspondent on the condition of anonymity,
explained that his aggrieved PDP colleagues
in the upper chamber had started reaching
out to the opposition senators.
He said, “I was personally consulted this
evening over the issue and I also cross-
checked from my colleagues who also told
me that they had been contacted.
“The grouse of the lawmakers, according to
the person that contacted me, was that
Jonathan’s handling of the last week
Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly
by the police was carelessly handled by the
Jonathan administration.
“From the look of things, the proceedings will
start on Tuesday because some signatures
had been collected already.”
Another senator from the PDP, who also
craved anonymity, also confirmed the
development to our correspondent stating
that it was certain that the President was not
capable of superintending over a free and fair
election in 2015.
He said, “Our President is not in charge. We
have seen that he had allowed the governors
to hijack powers from him. He is just like a
puppet and the earlier we act fast, the better
for us.”
Meanwhile, opposition members in the Senate
have threatened to raise the issue of the last
Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly
by the security operatives, when the Senate
resumes plenary today (Tuesday).
The spokesperson for the group, who is also
the member representing Ekiti Central on the
platform of the APC, Senator Babafemi
Ojudu, gave the hint in a telephone interview
with our correspondent in Abuja.
Ojudu said his colleagues were very annoyed
with the ways they were maltreated and
molested by the policemen, who were
deployed in the National Assembly on the
orders of the Inspector – General of Police.
He said majority of his members were of the
opinion that the IGP should not be allowed to
enter into the chambers, but should be asked
to resign for allegedly ridiculing the federal
lawmakers who had done nothing wrong
other than going to carry out their lawful
legislative activities.
He said, “We (APC Senators) are holding a
crucial meeting this (Monday) night to take a
final decision on the matter because
majority of us are really angry. Some are even
of the opinion that we should demand the
resignation or sacking of the IGP.
“I can assure you that the issue of the
National Assembly invasion by the police
would be raised when we resume sitting
tomorrow (Tuesday ), but we are going to
take a single position on the matter at our
meeting tonight,” he added.
However, the Chairman, Senate Committee
on Information, Media and Public Affairs,
Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, had in an interview
with our correspondent, on Saturday,
maintained that the Senate would not be
thrown into any chaotic situation over the
Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly
complex by security operatives.
He had admitted that the IGP would appear
before the Senate but assured the public that
the matter would be handled with maturity.
He had said, “The Senate will discuss the
invasion of the National Assembly by security
operatives when it reconvenes on Tuesday.
Already we have invited the Inspector –
General of Police to find out who gave the
order for the harassment of federal lawmakers
last Thursday.
“So, I do not anticipate any form of stormy
session during our sitting next Tuesday. I can
assure you that the Senate is made up of
gentlemen and women who are very senior
citizens of the Nigerian society.
“Therefore, you cannot expect the Senate to
act, except in a decorous manner.”
Abaribe also said that the Senate would still
go ahead with deliberations on the
emergency rule in the three north-eastern
states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe contrary
to insinuations that the matter had ended
since the period of emergency had lapsed.
He said, “We had invited the service chiefs
and we will find out from them, the update on
the insurgency situation in the north-eastern
states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe so that
we can address the issue of the state of
emergency requested by President Goodluck
Jonathan.”

Update:
A military source told our correspondent in
Maiduguri that the suicide bombers hit the
market at 11:23am.
Craving anonymity, the source said on the
telephone, “I can confirm that there were two
suicide bombers, but they are a male and
female. The first suicide bomber was a female
and hid the bomb on herself which she
detonated at the vicinity of the market.
“Just as the people gathered around her
corpse and a few other people that died in
the first explosion, a male, this time around,
detonated the explosive on him which killed
several people.
“No one can give you the exact casualty now
but over 30 persons were killed and many

"I flaunt my boobs to excite Ghanaians"- Nikki Samonas.

It’s funny how it’s always the people with
the smallest boobies that think they ought
to show off their chest in public.
After Yvonne Nelson made a similar
comment, another Ghanaian actress and
TV host, Nikki Samonas has revealed the
reasons why her b**bs are often seen in
the open.
Speaking in recent interview with Peace
FM, the Desperate Measures actress, who
put her b**bs partially on display yet
again at the recently-held 4syte Music
Video Awards in Ghana, said she always
wants to be seen and held as relevant in
the industry.
‘You should do something to always feel
relevant in the industry and that is what I
did,’ she began.
‘At times my father’s blood comes in me
and I forget that I’m in Ghana or Africa.
We don’t usually show our b**bs so once
in a while you have to surprise Ghanaians
when the country becomes dull,’ she
added.
Nikki, whose real name is Nicoletta
Samonas, is also a model, was born to a
Greek father and Ghanaian mother and is
mostly popular for her controversial x-
rated scene with Nollywood actor, Jim
Iyke in the movie, My First Wife in 2012

Meet Ghanaian actress Peace Hyde, rave of the moment. She is enormously endowed and can compete with the Nicki's and Kim's of this world.

She is currently one of the hottest women
in the whole of West Africa and after
viewing these photos, you’d know exactly
why.
The VERY VERY VERY voluptuous
Ghanaian actress, Peace Hyde, has been
forced to speak up, refuting claims that
her br**sts and buttock are so big
because she has had implants fixed on
her body.
Recently speaking with Graphic Showbiz,
when asked if her body features are real
or not, the Protégé actress responded: ‘I
know I am well-endowed but I don’t know
why anyone should think I have done
b**bs and bums job. I have had people
walk up to me to ask why I have such big
br**sts and buttocks and whether I have
done b**bs and bums job. All I tell them is
my body is natural and not artificial.’
‘I used to be very big some years ago; I
had big buttocks and br**sts but with
regular exercise I have reduced in size
and I like the way I look now, ’ she added.
Peace made her acting debut in an Alex
Mouth-directed flick, Protégé where she
starred alongside Nigeria’s Steph Nora
Okere and Wale Macaulay in 2013.
Thereafter, she featured in the hit
Ghanaian series, Adam’s Apple and has
since earned the Kardashian tag.

Write Boko Haram to stop attacks, Oritsejafor tells Sultan

The President of the Christian Association of
Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on
Monday urged the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji
Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to Boko
Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to
the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Oritsejafor made the call in Abuja at a 2-day
roundtable with Senior Special Assistants on
Religious Affairs from the 36 states of the
federation and the Federal Capital Territory
(FCT).
“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I
have to truly congratulate you for that because
that was a very good move.
‘‘I didn’t know about it until today and I am so
glad it happened. But I want to appeal that
you also write to Boko Haram because Boko
Haram is worst than ISIS.
‘‘They have killed more people than ISIS, they
have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they
need to be written to as well, it is very
important it will help.
“I have made an appeal several times that
there are some of our leaders who must come
together, religious, political and traditional.
They must come and discuss.’’
He also enjoined religious clerics, particularly
those in the ‘good book’ of the militant sect to
reach out to the leadership of the sect so that
the real Islam could be presented to them
instead of allowing them to continue to be
misrepresenting Islam.
According to him, the militant sect will not
listen to him, he will have joined the clerics in
preaching peace to members of the terror
group and the need to practice real Islam.

Stephanie Okereke releases a bold statement on a rape case involving her brother.

Stephanie Linus release a long and bold
letter speaking out about r*pe allegations
made about her brother, asking fans and
journalists to keep focused on getting
justice for the victim and for her brother,
Daniel.

Read her statement below: –

“I am distraught and devastated to hear
of the recent allegation of r*pe brought
against a relative of mine, Daniel Okereke
(my brother).
While it is a very difficult time for me, and
my family; I feel the need to make clear
my position, lest there be any doubt. r*pe
is r*pe, regardless of who the face of the
accused is.
Indeed, the irony is not lost on me. I have
spent my lifelong career advocating and
living my conviction that women around
the world should be able to live free of
violence, s*xual harassment or any form
of abuse against their persons. This
conviction led me to be involved in
numerous initiatives combating violence
against women in several countries
including the U.S, Liberia and Sierra
Leone.
The conviction also led me to place much
of my energy on my work with Vesico
Vaginal Fistula (VVF), a passion that dates
back to my time at the University of
Calabar.
As a student, I heard a story about young
girls who had been forced into early
marriage and were suffering the negative
and embarrassing effects of VVF. The
story stayed in my consciousness and
drove me, for years, to seek ways to
raise awareness on the condition; leading
to my work with a team of dedicated
doctors to carry out repair surgeries for
VVF victims across the country; and my
self-produced, soon to be released
movie, ‘DRY.’
So, again, it is indeed heart breaking for
me to receive and deal with news alleging
a family member of mine is an alleged
perpetrator of s*xual violence against a
woman. I am devastated.
This case is now in Nigeria’s criminal
justice system as the accused awaits
arraignment. I have also encouraged and
assured the alleged victim of my stance
against r*pe and applaud her for her
bravery to upset the culture of silence, in
Nigeria; even as I accord deference and
patiently wait for the criminal justice
system to determine the guilt or
innocence of my brother.
For Nigerian press and blogs; I call on
you to please report this case in an
ethical manner. I am a married woman
living my life. The alleged transgression of
my relative does not make it mine. The
focus should be the impact of r*pe on the
alleged victim, and resources for other
alleged victims, not me.
Some members of the press and blogs
have turned me into the accuser; using
my name for sensational headlines and
putting my images, exclusively, in their
stories. This is a form of victimization of
me as a woman, its unethical and
extremely hurtful. I am not the alleged
accused.
I therefore please ask all bloggers and the
media who have placed my pictures and
name to this story to refrain from further
using me to sensationalise this story.
I thank my fans, and all well-wishers for
your continued support and ask for your
continued prayers.
God bless.”

Scores have been reported killed by

mercenaries, following an attack on Digan
Dogo in Kadarko community of Keana
Local Government Area of Nasarawa
State, Saturday morning. Several people
were also said to have been injured.
The mercenaries, who besieged Kadarko
at around 5:30 a.m, started shooting at
sight and setting houses ablaze, The
Nigerian Tribune reports.
Nasarawa State Police Public Relations
Officer (PPRO), Ugochukwu Theodore
confirmed the attack. He however could

48 Fish Vendors killed by members of Boko Haram Near Nigerian border with Chad.

About 48 fish vendors have been killed by
suspected members of the Boko Haram
sect after setting up a roadblock near
Nigeria’s border with Chad, the head of
the fish vendors’ association said on
Sunday.
“Scores of Boko Haram fighters blocked a
route linking Nigeria with Chad near the
fishing village of Doron Baga on the
shores of Lake Chad on Thursday and
killed a group of 48 fish traders on their
way to Chad to buy fish,” Abubakar
Gamandi, head of the fish traders
association, told AFP.
According to Gamandi, the attackers set
up a barricade at Dogon Fili, 15
kilometres (nine miles) from Doron Baga
in Borno state, and stopped a convoy of
fish vendors around midday, slaughtering
some of them and drowning others in the
lake.
He told AFP that the terrorists slit the
throats of some of the men and tied the
hands and legs of the others before
throwing them into the lake to drown.
Gamandi explained that the assailants did
not kill any of their victims with guns.
“The attackers killed their victims silently
without the use of the gun to avoid
attracting attention from the multi-national
troops,” he said.
Doron Baga is the base of the Multi-
National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), which
comprise troops from Nigeria, Chad and
Niger fighting the Islamist group. The
original mandate of the group formed in
1998 was to fight trans-border crime but
that was expanded toinclude fight against
Boko Haram insurgency, as it threatened
to become a regional menace.
A military officer in Maiduguri confirmed
the attack to Vanguard, but said details
were sketchy.
“We heard of the attack near Doron Baga
but we don’t have any details because
the area falls under the operational
jurisdiction of the MNJTF,” the military
officer said.
