Top Nollywood Actor Muna Obiekwe is Dead. (photos )

Muna Obiekwe, the popular and
controversial Nollywood actor passed this afternoon in Lagos. Muna Obiekwe was one of the most popular male actors in
Nigeria, he passed today after a
prolonged battle with Kidney failure.
Muna Obiekwe unlike other sick actors/
actresses chose not to beg the public for
funds but instead to raise the money
himself, sources claim he was organising
a stage play to this effect, unfortunately
before this would be realised the actor
succumbed to the illness.
After his death there was initial confusion
over wether he was alive or not, this
confusion came about when a fake twitter
profile in his name claimed he was still
alive but we can confidently and sadly tell
you now that the top nollywood actor
Muna Obiekwe is dead.

See a photo of him on a hospital bed
connected to a kidney dialysis machine below:

My wife demands money from me before sex- man tells court.

A 50 year old retired civil servant, Mr Chibuzo
Obiedefu on Friday asked a Customary court in
Igando, Lagos to dissolve his seven year old marriage
because his wife constantly demands for money
before allowing him to have sex with her.
Obiedefu, told the court that his wife, Philomena,
made sexual intercourse difficult in the relationship.
“My wife is always starving me of sex and if she will
allow me, she will ask me to pay for it. And if I refuse
to give her money and wanted to sleep with her by
force, she would hit me with any dangerous weapon
she could lay her hands on,” he told the court.
Obiedefu also accused his wife of infidelity. He said
she was dating a policeman in their area. He added
that his wife had turned their children against him
making him a stranger in his house.
“Philomena is cheating on me; she is having an affair
with a policeman and whenever I caution her, she will
flare up.
“My wife is telling my children not to come close to
me because I am a bad man. My children now
distance themselves from me and I am now like a
stranger to them.”
He pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage
because he was tired of the relationship and was no
longer in love.
Responding, 40-year-old Philomena, who is a
business woman, denied all the allegations.
She said “My husband has sex with me anytime he
feels like; and I only demanded for feeding money
from him.”
She also claimed that she was not dating the
policeman.
“The policeman is only a friend, no strings attached.”
She urged the court not to grant her husband’s plea
because she still loved him.
Court President, Mr Rufus Adeyeri, adjourned the case
till January 21 for judgment.

soldiers repel Boko Haram attack on Biu, kill 40 insurgents.

The Nigerian Army yesterday waded off an attempt by
Boko Haram insurgents to take over Biu, the largest
town in southern Borno which is about 300km from
Maiduguri.
Biu is one of the towns in Borno state which has not
been attacked by Boko Haram.
According to Military sources, the insurgents suffered
heavy casualty as many of them who attempted to
invade the Army barracks in the town were killed.
One of the sources, according to Punch, said 41
corpses of the insurgents laid at different spots around
the barracks, another said seven of the insurgents,
who sustained injuries from the ensued gunfight, were
captured alive by soldiers and an Armoured Personel
Carrier was also seized from the insurgents. It was
discovered that some of the insurgents who were
killed were citizens of neighbouring Chad Republic.
One of the residents of the town, Dauda Yusuf, who
spoke with Punch on the telephone at about 1pm on
Wednesday from Biu, said, “Sporadic shootings made
many of us shiver this morning as the military engaged
the members of Boko Haram in fierce battle.
“From all indications and given the severity of the
fight, the insurgents perhaps wanted to add the town
to the list of their captured territories.”
A senior military source in Maiduguri, who spoke
anonymously, said it took the gallantry of the Nigerian
soldiers to repel the insurgents. The officer said that
the attack had been expected and that the soldiers
were prepared. He said the insurgents stormed the
town in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting
sporadically before the military responded and was
able to repel the attack.
He said the casualties could “not be given now as the
military is still taking position and combing the town.”

Al Qaeda in Yemen claimed responsibility on the attack on French satirical Newspaper.

DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda in Yemen claimed
responsibility for the attack on French satirical newspaper
Charlie Hebdo, saying it was ordered by the Islamist
militant group's leadership for insulting the Prophet
Mohammad, according to a video posted on YouTube.
"As for the blessed Battle of Paris, we, the Organisation of
al Qaeda al Jihad in the Arabian Peninsula, claim
responsibility for this operation as vengeance for the
Messenger of God," said Nasser bin Ali al-Ansi, a leader
of the Yemeni branch of al Qaeda (AQAP) in the recording.
Gunmen killed a total of 17 people in three days of
violence that began when they opened fire at Charlie
Hebdo in revenge for its past publication of satirical
images of the Prophet.
Ansi, the main ideologue for AQAP, said the "one who
chose the target, laid the plan and financed the operation
is the leadership of the organization", without naming an
individual.
He added without elaborating that the strike was carried
out in "implementation" of the order of overall al Qaeda
leader Ayman al-Zawahri, who has called for strikes by
Muslims in the West using any means they can find.
AQAP itself is led by Nasser al-Wuhayshi, who is also
Zawahri's number two in the network's global hierarchy.
"We did it in compliance with the command of Allah and
supporting His Messenger, peace be upon Him," Ansi
added.
It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of
the recording, which carried the logo of the al Qaeda's
media group al-Malahem.
The first edition of Charlie Hebdo published after last
week's attacks sold out within minutes at newspaper
kiosks around France on Wednesday, with people queuing
up to buy copies to support the satirical weekly.

Malawi floods kill at least 48, damage crops.

Malawi - Malawi President Peter Mutharika has declared
half the southern African country a disaster zone after
torrential rains over the past few days killed at least 48
people and left around 70 000 homeless.
The heavy rains have also damaged crops in the country,
which last year harvested a bumper 3.9 million tonnes of
the staple maize crop, a surplus of almost a million
tonnes.
Malawi's Department of Climate Change and
Meteorological Services has warned of heavy rainfall and
flash floods in the country for the next two to three
weeks.
"So far, it is estimated that 69 995 people have been
displaced by the floods and 48 people have lost their
lives. The floods have also damaged a lot of hectares of
crops, washed away livestock and damaged infrastructure
such as roads and bridges,"
Mutharika said in a statement late on Tuesday.
He also said many people remained stranded and would
need to be rescued from low-lying areas prone to
flooding.
"I declare all the 15 districts that have been affected by
floods Disaster Areas... I appeal for humanitarian
assistance, from the international donor community," he
said.
The crop outlook in the country, where much agriculture
is still done by subsistence farmers, has deteriorated after
a late start to rains in the summer planting season which
usually gets underway in October or November.
"Delayed and overall below-average cumulative rains
since the start of the rainy season in October last year
have adversely affected the 2015 cereal crops, but
prolonged heavy rains may worsen the situation," said
Jeffrey Luhanga, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of
Agriculture.
Wet weather has also wreaked damage in neighbouring
Mozambique, which has been hit periodically by
catastrophic floods in the past.
Bridges have collapsed in the country and the newly
elected government there has declared a "red alert" for
the central and northern parts of the country and was
sending rescue boats and aid to stricken areas.

The 29-year-old — who played a key role in Real Madrid’s
remorseless charge to a 10th Champions League trophy —
beat eternal rival and four-time winner Lionel Messi of
Barcelona and Germany’s World Cup winning goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer.

God Has told me who will be President- Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, KICC London.

Matthew Ashimolowo has an estimated net worth of $6
million. He is the Senior Pastor of Kingsway
International Christian Centre (KICC) in London.
Ashimolowo earned his net worth from his annual
salary as senior pastor of Kingsway International
Christian Centre as well as from his media company,
Matthew Ashimolowo Media. He enrolled in a Bible
school after the death of his father and at age 22
converted to Christianity from Islam. His Kingsway
International Christian Center is reportedly the largest
Pentecostal church in the United Kingdom where he
earns an annual salary of $200,000. Ashimolowo also
has a program called Winning Ways aired on Premier
Radio and on TV in Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, TV
Africa, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and
Europe on The God Channel and Inspirational Network.
His media company, Matthew Ashimolowo Media
which according to reports is the major source of his
wealth subscribes to and teaches success in the area
of prosperity theology. He is an inspiring preacher who
has lifted countless souls with his passionate
preaching of the gospel. On January 3rd, the man of
God and his wife Yemisi hosted the 9th annual
widow’s event in his home town, Odeomu, Osun
State, Nigeria. It was indeed a mammoth gathering of
widows from all the nooks and crannies of the state.
At the venue, he talked to Sunday Sun about the state
of the nation, his life as regards touching the lives of
the less privileged, his vision for widows and lots
more.

Excerpts:

Can you tell us about yourself, sir?

My name is Matthew Abiodun Ashimolowo. I’m from
here in Odeomu, Gbongan. It’s my father’s hometown,
but I wasn’t born here. I was born in Zaria. I was born
in the north. I grew up in the north, in the army
barracks and then became a pastor 41 years ago. I
was sent to England 31 years ago by the Foursquare
Church, and then I started KICC almost 23 years ago.
That’s me in a nutshell. I’m married. This year, my
marriage will be 34 years. I have two sons and one will
be 32 this month and the other will be 30 in May.
Both of them got married in July and October 2014
respectively.
We are in the New Year. Nigerians would like to know
what God is saying to us as a country.

Do you have a message for Nigerians?

Very interesting. I believe that globally, there is going
to be a shaking of the world. There will be
earthquakes in some places. There might be famine in
places they never knew famine, and flooding in places
they didn’t expect. For Nigeria, the Lord showed me,
who will win the election. I will not mention his name,
because I have to be politically neutral. But when the
president’s name is announced, 20 percent of a
certain part of the nation will not agree. Eventually,
after negotiation they will. We will agree that we’re
one. Wales is only 400,000 people or about a million
people. They call them a nation, and they call Yorubas
who are 27 million a tribe, the Igbo who are 18 million
you call them a tribe. For us to have many nations that
make up Nigeria, it was God that made it happen. And
that prophetic mandate still remains on Nigeria.
Anyone who incites people to divide this nation will
lose his chance. Nigeria will remain one. After all the
noise, you will be amazed that also some politicians
will be shocked, nobody will be ready to die for them.
There will be peace in Nigeria after the election. I see
a man who will one day rise, but I don’t know when, I
don’t think it’s up to 10 years though . He will turn the
fortunes of Nigeria round. Nigeria will look like one of
these advancing nations like United Arab Emirates ,
India, and China. That is how Nigeria will be.

You said there will be peace, what about Boko Haram insurgency?

Boko Haram is a snake with many heads. We are
cutting one head, which is why the other head shows
up. If you know the hydras in the story of Hercules,
every time the head of that snake was cut, two heads
grew there. We need a robust approach. Boko Haram
will
still be around but we need a robust approach. We
need to deal with fifth columnists in the system who
are empowering them. I am 62 years old. I was born
in the barracks and I know when Nigeria fought the
civil war. My father fought the war too. In fact, he died
in Biafra. He died by the Asaba bridge. But I can tell
you, in Nigeria, there were only five battalions when
Nigeria fought the three-year civil war and yet the war
came to an end. It was massive. How can you fight a
bunch of riff-raffs with the army and they hold you to
ransom? Fifth columnists are selling Nigeria to them,
giving them petrol, money and ammunition. As my
mother used to say, when a child keeps throwing
stones and he’s not exhausted, there is a supplier in
the corner. But our prayer should be that our
government will be bold enough to indict the fifth
columnists, either inside the system or outside the
system.

Do you think foreigners are backing Boko Haram?

The only foreign aide in my opinion to Boko Haram are
weapons from Libya during the revolution. They came
down south. Other than that, it will be people who
believe in the advancement of the religion of Islam but
do not realize that in the process they are funding the
wrong people.

Football Legend, George Weah Wins Liberian Senate seat

Liberian opposition politician and former football star
George Weah won a landslide victory in Senate elections in
Ebola-ravaged Liberia, official results showed Sunday.
Weah — who in 1995 became the first and only African yet
to win the Ballon d’Or as European footballer of the year
and who played for AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain and
Monaco — trounced his rival Robert Sirleaf, the son of
Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Weah got 78 percent of the vote in Montserrado county in
the December 20 poll to fill half the seats of the Senate.
Turnout was around 25 percent, according to the national
election commission.
The election was originally due to be held in October but
was postponed over the Ebola outbreak in Liberia.
Sirleaf, who was running as an independent, registered
10.8 percent of the vote.
Montserrado county, in northwestern Liberia, is the west
African country’s most populous region and home to nearly
a third of its population of four million.
Liberia tops the number of Ebola deaths in the current
outbreak with 3,384 fatalities, but it has seen a clear
decrease of new transmissions in the past month.
Ebola has killed 7,693 people, almost all of them in the
west African epicentres of Liberia, Sierra Leone and
Guinea.
Weah, a popular figure in Liberia since his days as a
deadly centre-forward, won the first round of the 2005
presidential election, but lost the runoff to Johnson Sirleaf.
A 2011 election campaign was also unsuccessful.

cameroonian Soldiers chase Nigerians out of Bakassi

The Cameroonian military has begun
cracking down on Nigerians in the Bakassi
peninsula suspected of evading taxes.
Cameroon gained total control of the
peninsula in August 2013, but most
inhabitants in the oil-rich area are Nigerians
“We don’t understand Cameroon’s tax
laws,” a provisions store owner, Stanley
Obi, told the Hausa service of the Voice of
America (VOA), adding that he has seen an
array of people seeking payments.
“At times, you see the council come to
collect theirs. After, the tax officers will
come, police will come; we are just
confused with the whole system,” Obi said.
Obi also said a curfew was imposed on the
peninsula last week following disputes
between businessmen and groups of tax
collectors.
Fresh fish retailer, Na Eric, said that ever
since Cameroon gained sovereignty over the
peninsula, Nigerians in Bakassi have
frequently been harassed by Cameroonian
soldiers.
“It is a means of killing our businesses,” he
said.
The governor of the southwest region in
which Bokassi is located, Bernard Okalia
Bilai, confirmed that his administration had
imposed a night curfew in the area, saying
the decision is to halt people coming from
Nigeria’s Cross River State following a
meeting held at which peninsula residents
complained that others were disrespecting
maritime borders, attacking the locals and
refusing to pay taxes.
“Nigerians must understand that Bakassi is
now a Cameroonian territory and whoever
lives there must submit to all national rules
and regulations, including paying taxes,”
the governor said.
Immediately after the International Court of
Justice (ICJ) ruling, tax collection in
Bakassi was suspended, but as of mid-
August 2013, residents had to start paying
their share.
The governor accused Nigerians of
disrespecting the ICJ ruling’s terms by
refusing to pay taxes.
In 2002, the ICJ ruling had awarded control
of the disputed Bakassi Peninsula to
Cameroon, and Nigeria eventually decided
not to appeal the ruling, sparking protests
from many Bakassi residents. And other
Nigerians.
In 2008, the ICJ gave Nigeria five years to
transition and cede control. As of August
2013, Nigerians – who constitute 90
percent of the peninsula’s population – had
to obtain residence permits and be treated
as foreign nationals.
Those who decided to become
Cameroonians had to acquire national
identity cards and respect Cameroon laws
The United Nations-backed Green Tree
Agreement of 2006 set terms of the
handover and one of the articles states that
there shall be no indiscriminate collection of
taxes within the Bakassi peninsula.

My certificates are with Military, Buhari tells INEC.

Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.)
A former Head of State and the Presidential candidate of
the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general
elections, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has told
the Independent National Electoral Commission that his
academic qualifications and credentials are with the
military.
A visit by journalists to the headquarters of the commission
on Monday in Abuja revealed that Buhari’s academic
qualifications were not on display, unlike those of other
Presidential candidates, including President Goodluck
Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.
But in an affidavit, which he deposed to at a High Court of
the Federal Capital Territory, he explained that all his
certificates were with the Secretary, Military Board.
The affidavit dated November 24, 2014, was stamped and
received by INEC on December 18 2014.
“I am the above-named person and deponent to this
affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents
as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015,
are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as of the
time of presenting this affidavit. The affidavit is made in
good faith and for record purpose,” Buhari stated.
The PUNCH had exclusively reported that Vice President
Mohammed Namadi Sambo had also told INEC that his
Bachelors and Masters’ degree certificates in Architecture
from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, had been
consumed by fire.
Sambo, who is the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP,
had made the declaration in the documents he filed with
INEC and displayed on the commission’s office in Abuja,
even though the details of the fire that consumed the
certificates were not given.
Sambo’s papers were received and stamped by the INEC
between December 10 and 18, 2014 and validated by two
letters from the ABU, a copy of which was obtained by our
correspondent.

Cameroonian Army attacks Boko Haram, kills 41.

At least 41 militants and one soldier were reportedly killed
as the Cameroonian military launched an air raid on
suspected Boko Haram fighters who attacked one of its
bases on the border near Amchide and seized a huge
portion of the town of Ashigashia.
The Voice of America quoted Cameroon military
spokesman, Col. Didier Badjeck, as saying that about
1,000 suspected Boko Haram fighters had seized parts of
the villages of Ngouma, Sagme, Ardebe, Mbaljuel,
Dambore, Soueram and Ashigashia and briefly occupied a
military camp on Sunday.
Badjeck also said the militants also kidnapped several girls
on Friday and forced them to marry the group’s fighters.
He said the military was informed by local residents that
Boko Haram members had abducted girls between the
ages of 12 and 15 and forced them to marry sect
members.
Consequently, President Paul Biya of Cameroon ordered
the air strike against the sect. This forced the Boko Haram
fighters from neighbouring Nigeria to flee the camp at
Assighasia, Al Jazeera quoted the Communications
Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, as saying in a statement.
Bakary said the multiple attacks showed that Boko Haram
had adopted a new strategy aimed at “distracting
Cameroonian troops on different fronts, making them more
vulnerable in the face of the mobility and unpredictability
of their attacks.”
Bakary said at least 34 militants were killed after the army
raided one of their bases in Cameroon, while another
seven were killed in a separate clash which also claimed
the life of a soldier.
Last week, Cameroon said it had dismantled a Boko
Haram training camp on its territory, and had rescued 84
children who were being trained there.
More than 40 of its soldiers have been killed in fighting
with Boko Haram this year, according to Reuters.
A Boko Haram squad attacked the Assighasia camp on
Sunday morning and the “Cameroonian defence forces had
to withdraw after trying to defend the position”, the
government statement said.

AT least, 10 persons were on Saturday night killed by
unknown gunmen who attacked the Tattaura village in the
Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Tattaura is a community in Ancha District of Ninzo
Chiefdom in the southern part of the state. The village is
two kilometres east of Gwantu, the council headquarters.
Eyewitnesses said five others sustained serious injuries and
were rushed to the Akwanga General Hospital in Nasarawa
State.
The attack on Tattaura reportedly started at about
10.00pm on Saturday night, shortly after the community
celebrated Christmas with fanfare. It was learnt that the
community usually organise dances amongst children,
youths and the aged during the yuletide in the area.
Acting Chairman of the council, Alhaji Nasiru Harande,
confirmed the attack, which he described as “unfortunate.”
He said the attackers “came, shot and flee” to an
unknown destination and that “10 people were killed while
five injured are receiving treatment in a general hospital in
Akwanga.”
Harande however said normalcy had returned to the
community.
Mike Sanga, a community leader from the area, said the
attack took place in a shop where some men were relaxing
after a hectic dance.
He said, “Our community is about three kilometres to
Nandu – Ankpong where 19 people were killed in June,
this year. We identify the people killed to be Joel Ambo, a
primary school teacher; Yakubu Ambi, Yamu Idzi, Anche
Ishaku and Misalai Ngbo.
“Others are, Ishaya Anche, Monday Samson, Joel Anzah,
Jonathan Anche and one P – Square that visited from
Randa community.”
Another resident, Mr. Benard Tattaura said the mystery
behind the incessant raid on the community was still
unknown to the people of the area and asked the
government to fish out the attackers.
“If the government did not arrest these frequent attacks,
we are finished,” he noted.
As of the time of this report, arrangements were being
made to bury the victims.
The Kaduna State Police Command was yet to issue an
official statement on the attack and the command’s
spokesman, Aminu Lawan, was not available to confirm
and give more details about the attack.

Men love my big Bum Bum; says woman with world's biggest Bum Bum: Measuring 7ft wide. (photos ).

Bootylicious Sarah Massey claims to have one the
world’s biggest butts – measuring a whopping 7ft
wide.
The mum-of-two, from Chicago in America, wears size
10XL trousers and once even cracked a toilet bowl by
sitting on it.
Sarah, who at 32 stone gets about £750 disability
benefit each month due to limited mobility, even
struggles to pass through some doorways.
The 33-year-old said: “Everyday I get some kind of
comment thrown at me, both good and bad – I used
to be ashamed but now I hold my head high.
“At school I was teased and called Dump Truck b*tt
by the other kids, but the condition is hereditary –
there’s nothing I can do about it.
“I went through a stage of worrying what people think,
but now I want to show the world I am proud to be
me.”
Now Sarah is so proud of her unique physique she
even takes part in sexy photo shoots for fans of her
figure.
But while Sarah is comfortable with her dimensions,
filling her wardrobe is expensive.
She said: “Because of my size I can’t ever find outfits
in normal stores. My top half is a 7XL and my bottom
half is 10XL so I have to go to specialists.
“I buy most of my clothes online because there are
few plus-size stores with big enough clothes.
“Larger outfits are expensive so I can up to £400
pounds per month on clothes.”
And Sarah’s problems extend to performing everyday
tasks while carrying added weight.
She said: “With most doorways I have to go in
sideways – I do the little wiggle dance to get through.
“I’ve broken chairs before and I once broke a toilet
bowl I was sat on at the theatre – it was awful.”
However, now Sarah is taking steps to tackle her
mobility issues with workout sessions to help her lose
weight.
She said: “Although I love my b*tt I would like to
make it just a little bit smaller.
“The size that it is causes back problems- even sitting
down on a chai can be painful.”
And though Sarah says large posteriors run in the
family, he admits to succumbing to cravings for junk
food which doesn’t help.
Sarah said: “Apart from my younger sister, the women
in my family all have large behinds – I only eat
between 1,500 and 2,000 calories per day.
“However I do have a problem with portion control and
I sometimes get tempted by ice cream – that’s my
weakness.”
Growing up Sarah says she was constantly teased
because of her developing behind – and was only
chatted up by older men.
She said: “Guys my age weren’t interested in me –
they liked my skinnier friends. Old guys would hit on
me because they appreciated my body.
“Because of that I always ended up in relationships
with guys ten, sometimes twenty years older.”
One of those men, Albert Little, is now the father of
her two sons, Christian, 14, and Aaron, 7.
Sarah says her behind is so outrageous she has even
been accused of having implants to enhance it.
She said: “Some people can’t believe one person can
have this much b*tt.
‘”Because I’ve got a relatively small frame on top they
say, ‘that can’t be real’,.
“I carry this weight with me all the time, everywhere I
go, it’s definitely not fake. Big booties are just in my
blood.”
And after discovering an online community of men who
appreciate curvy women, Sarah says she has no
shortage of admirers.
She said: “It began when I took pictures of myself to
document my weight loss and a photographer friend
put them on Facebook.
“They got so many likes that he asked if we could do
some modelling pictures, then those pictures went
viral.”
Now Sarah is able to cash in on her biggest asset and
change perceptions on beauty.
She said: “I’m trying to make the most of what I’ve
been given and being confident about who I am
makes me happy.
“If I can inspire others to embrace their curves and be
proud big, beautiful women, I would be very happy.”

My Christmas message. Short and brief!

May the blessings of the birth of Christ abide with you and
your families; bringing you good tidings, peace, joy,
prosperity and good health all year round. Wishing Merry
Christmas and prosperous a New Year.
My friends, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ we
should be security conscious. Watch and pray, for the days
are evil. The enemy is like a roaring Lion seeking for whom
to devour. We shall not fall victims in Jesus name.
Don't over spend,
Don't over speed,
Don't over drink,
Don't over eat.
Enjoy yourself and stay out of trouble. Most importantly,
remember the children's school fees. God will help us.
