Saf Ron Kulere, HRH Lazarus Agai murdered by unknown gunmen in Bokkos, Plateau State.
"BLACK MONDAY ON THE PLATEAU (BLOOD BATH IN BOKKOS LGA)!
By Rwang Patrick Stephen
Yesterday, the Paramount ruler of the Ron people of bokkos LGA was murdered, along side with members of his entourage.
He is the late Saf Ron Kulere, HRH Lazarus Agai.
Over the years, plateau has lost great men and women, youths and children to the political correct group called UNKNOWN GUNMEN.
Late senator Gyang Dantong was killed by unknown gunmen
Late Honourable Gyang Fulani and now, a first class chief and his family have joined the counts.
Who are the unknown gunmen?, recently, we are been patronized to give lands for ranches for the sake of peace.
If unknown gunmen could murder a first class chief, what then will be the fate of an ordinary citizen?
Peace is something that we all need, but remember, you can't sale your land for peace!
Pray for us on the plateau,we are indeed in huge danger. Our heart goes to bokkos people, adieu our beloved chief.
Sad...it is time now for our critical unity as a state.
I call on government at all levels to overhaul the security attaches of our Paramount rulers on the plateau. Let armed military details be assigned to them."
A black day indeed. And Gov Lalong is busy donating Land for Ranches for more killings. May their souls rest in peace.

Buhari should stop acting like grandfather of corruption - Fayose.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by shielding his men from probe, just as he asked Nigerians to demand the release of the authentic report of the Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He described the claim by the federal government that the probe panel only looked into procurement and contracts awarded by the military between 2011-2015 because documents regarding procurement from 2007 to 2010 were not available as a clear indication of his support for corruption.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “It is now obvious to the entire world that anyone that is in President Buhari’s good books can never be adjudged as corrupt even if such a person is caught
looting the entire money in Nigeria’s treasury.”
The governor said it smacked of sheer hypocrisy and nepotism for anyone to accept that fraud could have been perpetrated on procurement and award of contracts in an establishment without the involvement of the director of procurement.
“There are many petitions relating to defence from 2007 that are been discarded, the question is why? There are several petitions against APC leaders that are not being looked into, the question is why?
“Fghting corruption and targeting only opponents of the president is in itself corruption,” he said.
He continued, “Buhari’s’ Minister of Interior, Major General Abdul rahman Dambazau (rtd) was Chief of Army Staff between 2008 and 2010 and the current Chief Of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Buratai served as Director of Procurements, Defence Headquarters, from 2012 till May 2015.
“It is a fact that the committee in its terms of reference said it queried all procurement from 2007 to 2015. Even the Press Release issued was titled; ‘Third Interim Report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015.
“First paragraph of the committee report also indicated that it used 2007-2015 as reference, stating that the committee ‘analyzed procurement contracts awarded by or for the Nigerian Army between 2007
and 2015.
“Questions Nigerians must now begin to ask President Buhari and his government are; where is the report of Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement relating to 2007 to 2010? Who doctored the committee report and why?
“Lai Mohammed said the Committee would commence the audit of procurement from 2007 to 2010 ‘as soon as the necessary documents are available’, it is necessary that Nigerians are told who the custodians of the documents are. Why were documents on procurement from 2011 and 2015 available and those of 2007 to 2010 not available?
“Early this year, we were told that an ally of President Buhari and chieftain of the APC, Brig. General Jafaru Isa (rtd) refunded N100 million of the N170 million he allegedly received from ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
“Jafaru Isa who was a member of the 19-man Buhari Transition Committee was released after he was allegedly assisted by the Presidency to refund N100 million to the anti-graft commission and since then, nothing has been heard about the case. He was not charged to court like others.
“It took the Ministry of Defence and the Code of Conduct Bureau only one week to clear Buratai but others from the opposition party would be languishing in prison while EFCC go about fishing for evidence against them.
“Like I and other well-meaning Nigerians have maintained, fighting corruption is a good idea but the moment documents of probe panels and being doctored to shield those seen as the President’s men, the entire purpose of the corruption fight has been defeated.
“The international community must therefore prevail on President Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by making the anti-corruption war all-inclusive instead of this clear persecution of his perceived political enemies, and the first step to demonstrate that will be the immediate release of report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement covering 2007 to 2015.”
Inflation hit 16.5%. Who will safe the masses?
The National Bureau of Statistics on Monday released the Consumer Price Index which measures inflation stating that the country’s inflation rate has risen from 15.6 per cent to 16.5 per cent in June.
The 16.5 per cent increase in inflation rate represents one of the highest increases to be recorded by the country in recent times.
The bureau attributed the rise in inflation to increase in prices of electricity, kerosene, furniture and furnishing materials, passenger transport by road, fuel and lubricants as well as transport equipment.
The inflation rate had been experiencing an upward swing within the last seven months, a development which analysts have described as worrisome.
The implication of the resurgence in inflation according to analysts is that consumers may experience more tougher times ahead owing to reduction in their purchasing power.
The NBS said, “In June, the Consumer Price Index which measures inflation continued to record relatively strong increases for the fifth consecutive month.
“The Headline index increased by 16.5 per cent (year-on-year), 0.9 percentage points higher from rates recorded in May (15.6 per cent).
“During the month, the highest increases were seen in the electricity, liquid if fuel (kerosene), furniture and furnishings, fuel and lubricants.”

There is grand plan to wipe out Christianity - CAN Gen Secretary
The General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Musa Asake, speaks with BAYO AKINLOYE about President Muhammadu Buhari’s silence on incessant killings of non-Muslims
Many Nigerians have condemned the killing of a Redeemed Christian Church of God preacher, Eunice Elisha. How do you view the fact that she was allegedly killed by Muslims?
I really don’t know – that’s not the first killing. I don’t why this is happening; we have security agencies in Nigeria. But when a Christian is killed, they (Muslims) either say it’s due to blasphemy or they don’t give a reason at all. After the killings, we are often told some people were arrested – that’s the best we hear. And, after the arrest, nothing happens again. As Christians we’re going through a difficult time. Therefore, my reaction to the killing of the RCCG’s pastor is that it was an ugly incident. It ought not to have happened. There’s never been a situation where a Christian will go and kill somebody for no reason but Christians are being killed Muslims – let me say by extremists; because not all Muslims are involved. Then, we are also faced with Fulani herdsmen who are killing people and wiping out villages as if we don’t have a government in the country. It is a very sad situation.
What is the implication of this crisis?
From the way I see things happening, there is a grand plan to wipe out Christians in this country but by the grace of God it will not come to pass. That is why I am saying if the government is not going to protect us, then we have no choice but to protect ourselves. We will not continue to fold our hands and accept being killed for no reason. These killings are going on as usual and we have got to a point to say ‘enough is enough.’ Everybody has to defend themselves.
Do you think it will be in anybody’s favour if everybody is encouraged to take the law into their hands?
That is not taking the law into our hands, it is defending ourselves. You cannot just sit down and allow people to kill you since you have nobody to help you –it’s not taking the law into your hand. If somebody breaks into your house, you have to deal with them. You slap me, I slap you. We have been preaching that ‘vengeance is of the Lord’ but we are being pushed to a certain level that we can no longer tolerate what is happening. As Christians, we don’t have anybody speaking for us; nobody is protecting us. They (the government) are leaving us to die as chickens and so I say ‘enough is enough’.
Talking about ‘vengeance is of the Lord’, do you see this as a test of faith that requires that people should allow the government to address the matter as it deems fit?
My brother, the Bible says ‘watch and pray’. The Bible again tells us that if a thief is coming to your house and you are aware of it, you cannot go to bed and allow the thief to destroy your house and kill your family. You have to protect your family. So, we are not going to sit down and be deceived; people are using that verse (of the Bible) against us. If you go into the Bible, there are many passages that we can use (to defend ourselves). If you look at it you can never give me a record of one instance that Christians started killing Muslims in this country; not one instance – I want somebody to prove me wrong.
What can be done before the crisis worsens?
There is nothing that can be done when the government seems to favour one religion – look at how appointments are shared in this government (of President Muhammadu Buhari); tell me how many Christians are there? All the security agencies in this country are in the hands of northerners. Don’t we have Christians in the North? Was it only Muslims who voted for the president in the last presidential election? Evidently, Christians have been marginalised and they are being brutalised. Christians are being treated as if we are second-citizens in this country which is sad and unfortunate but our God is not asleep.
Are you saying these killings won’t stop?
How can the killings stop? Look at it again: when you run to the police for reprieve, the security is in their (Muslims) hands – and they are the ones who are killing us. So, when people are arrested for killing their fellow humans, nothing happens. Or, have you ever heard of someone brought to book because of these killings? Nothing has happened. Is the government saying anything? Look at the (Evangelical Church of West Africa’s) pastor that was killed in Nasarawa State, have you heard the governor say anything? There was even no sense of sympathy expressed towards the bereaved family. Again, the woman killed in Abuja was a RCCG pastor and Nigeria’s Vice President is also a RCCG pastor. The killing of the RCCG pastor took place where they live and the President didn’t say a word – it is a sad situation.
But the wife of the Vice President visited the pastor’s bereaved family in Abuja to condole with them.
Did she make a statement? Going to condole with the bereaved and signing a condolence register, is that what we want?
Has the Christian Association of Nigeria made efforts to meet with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the killings?
Do we have to go to him? Is he not there to represent Nigerians, not only Christians? He knows the situation of this country; that’s why he ran for the office. We don’t have to go and meet him. He knows what we are going through. What is happening is not something that he doesn’t know. Does someone need to go and tell him about it? The President knows that his deputy is of the denomination; these killings are happening, are they not provoking him? The issue is not about going to him; everything is happening in the open and nobody is saying anything.
Don’t you think all Christian groups that professed to be Christians should meet with the President or his deputy to express their displeasure about the way the government is handling the matter?
We have registered our d
ileasure; we have spoken and we have written. Going there is not the issue; the issue is that they are there to represent us and to defend us, to protect us. Muslims and Fulani herdsmen are committing atrocities and are going scot-free.
What about meeting with Islamic religious leaders to resolve the crisis?
My brother, you’re in this country you know what is going on. We have Nigeria Inter-Religious Council and for several years we have never met; that is where the current issue ought to be discussed. Since the council has not been operational, which group do we meet again? And where do we start from?
Isn’t there a way to arrange a meeting with Islamic spiritual heads in the North along with some big-time pastors?
So, what big-time pastor do you want? The woman that was killed in Abuja was a Redeemed minister and I saw that the head of the Redeemed church went to condole with her family by 6.00 am. The statement he made was that he was praying for the salvation of those who killed the woman. I am confused. I don’t want to go further.
Why are you confused?
It was a very good opportunity for the head of that church (RCCG) to make a very strong statement to the government, to tell them ‘enough is enough’ because that wasn’t the first time (Christians would be killed for no just cause). But what I expected wasn’t what I got.
Is it possible to imagine that clergymen are part of the problem for not speaking up?
They are not part of the problem – I don’t understand what you meant by saying they are part of the problem. Not speaking out is my problem and I keep wondering: who are we afraid of? Who are we trying to please? That’s the problem – who are we trying to please? The Muslims take their time and speak as they want. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigerian or what do you call them? They usually come out and speak arrogantly – nobody has challenged that association. They wiped out villages and speak as if they own people’s lives and we continue to say ‘let’s live in peace and pray’. Everything that has a beginning definitely will have an end. I am afraid the way we are going in Nigeria today is not the best. There are some people who want to destroy this country; they want to wipe out (some people) – then, we can help them to wipe everything out. And let’s see who remains. We can’t be building while somebody is destroying. We all have a choice: we can build together or we can choose to destroy together.
But would that be Christ-like? Is that what Jesus preached?
Who’s like? Is it Muslim-like? Is it Muhammad-like? Tell me is that Muhammad-like? So, if it is not Muhammad-like, it is not Christ-like. Islam is said to be a religion of peace; Christianity is a religion of peace. If we the followers want peace, let us live in peace. If we don’t want peace, let us join hands and scatter (everything).
Could the perpetrators of these killings be hiding under the banner of Islam and that they are not Muslims?
Who told you they are not?
I am just wondering.
They said they are followers of Islam. They say they are Muslims, why are you trying to defend them? Do you know them?
I don’t; I am just wondering if it is possible these killers are not Muslims?
You cannot wonder; they say they are Muslims. You cannot say they are not. Some Muslims have never denied them. They kill in the name of Islam. So, who are you to tell me that they are not muslims? If they are hiding in the name of Islam then Muslims should unveil them and say they are bringing Islam into disrepute. Have you heard Muslims say that?
No.
OK; don’t tell me they’re hiding (under the banner of Islam). They are not hiding. That is who they are.
Do you think President Muhammadu Buhari has been able, as the commander-in-chief of the country, to protect lives and property, particularly that of those being attacked by Fulani herdsmen and Muslims? Do you think he’s bothered?
It’s hard to say; he doesn’t speak whether they kill or they don’t kill, he doesn’t say anything. I don’t know whether the killing of Christians bother him or not. I don’t understand how he’s trying to protect us since security is in the hands of the Muslims. For all the killings in the North he’s not saying anything. But he is more interested in the Niger Delta, sending troops there. We are being killed but he’s not saying a word. That’s a big challenge for a leader who’s supposed to be a father to all. I don’t know whether that bothers him or not since I have not heard him talk. The government is one-sided. People are keeping quiet especially those who are in government. They feel they are fine because of where they are.
But I am reminded of a Biblical passage in the book of Esther when the Jews were to be annihilated secretly by Haman. Mordecai – Esther was then the queen (in Persia) – sent a word to Esther that there was a pogrom being planned against her people. Mordecai urged her to speak to the Persian king about the plot. Esther was trying to give the bureaucracy of the palace as an excuse. Mordecai told her that if she refused to stand and speak for the Jews salvation would come from another means. But if destruction came upon the Jews, he said even Esther and her family would not escape it. Mordecai said to her, ‘who knows maybe for a time like this that you should be in a position of power.’ To all the Christians in government that are keeping quiet, who knows maybe God allows them to be where they are today for times like this. If they speak, fine; if they don’t speak, salvation will come to Christians without or without them.

More than 161 killed in Turkey Coup.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Saturday 161 people were killed in the coup attempt against the government, with 2,839 soldiers now detained on suspicion of involvement.
Yildirim, speaking outside his Cankaya palace in Ankara and flanked by top general Hulusi Akar who was held during the coup attempt, also described the putsch bid as a “black stain” on Turkish democracy. He added that 1,440 people had been wounded.
The toll 161 did not include the assailants, he emphasised. Turkey’s acting army chief Umit Dundar had earlier said 104 putschists had been killed.
Yildirim blamed the coup attempt on the supporters of US-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, who Ankara has for years accused of working to overthrow the authorities and wants to see brought to justice.
The United States has shown little interest so far to Turkey’s requests for his extradition.
“Fethullah Gulen is the leader of a terrorist organisation,” the premier said.
“Whichever country is behind him is not a friend of Turkey and in a serious war against Turkey,” he added.

Suspected militants blow up pipeline in Ogun state.
Suspected militants, who were said to have disguised as maintenance officers from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, have blown up a gas pipeline around PZ Estate in the Ogijo area of Ogun State.
The incident was said to have occurred on Tuesday.
The residents of the community said the men had pretended as if they were officials of the NNPC, who had come to carry out routine maintenance on the gas pipeline in the area.
But the area was thrown into confusion after the hoodlums left as a loud explosion occurred later at night, shattering a section of the gas pipeline.
The loud explosion was said to have sent the residents of the community running for cover.
The affected pipeline is reported to serve an 11.4 distribution line for some companies in Ikorodu in Lagos.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident, saying the state command had deployed its men in the area.
Adejobi, a Superintendent of Police, added, “Some hoodlums on Tuesday went and burst a part of a gas pipeline around PZ Estate in Ogijo.
“We heard that they came as if they were officials of a company in charge of the maintenance of the gas pipeline and the residents were deceived by this ploy.
“We don’t want to conclude yet that they were militants but we call them criminals, and we will get them wherever they are.
“The command has deployed men in the area, and we are working with other sister security agencies. The Divisional Police Officer, Ogijo, Mohammed Tijani, and his team are also there. The Lagos State Police Command has also deployed men on their side in the area.”
Adejobi said as of the time of filing this report, officials of the NNPC were already carrying out repairs to the affected section of the gas pipeline.
Death toll in France terrorists Attack hits 80, officials says.
An attacker killed up to 80 people and injured scores when he drove a heavy truck at high speed into a crowd watching Bastille Day fireworks in the French Riviera city of Nice late on Thursday, officials said.
Counter-terrorist investigators were seeking to identify the driver, who a local government official said opened fire before police shot him dead. The official said weapons and grenades were found inside the 25-tonne, unmarked truck.
The attack, which came eight months and a day after Islamic State gunmen and suicide bombers killed 130 people in Paris, appeared so far to be the work of a lone assailant.
Newspaper Nice-Matin quoted unidentified sources as saying the driver was a 31-year-old local of Tunisian origin.
The truck careered for hundreds of metres (yards) along the famed Promenade des Anglais seafront, slamming into spectators watching the fireworks, listening to an orchestra or strolling above the beach towards the grand, century-old Hotel Negresco.
"It's a scene of horror," a local member of parliament, Eric Ciotti, told France Info radio, saying the truck had "mown down several hundred people." Local government leader
Christian Estrosi put the death toll at 77, while BFM TV later put it at 80. An Interior Ministry spokesman said "several dozen" had died.
Nice-Matin said 42 people were in critical condition and many others injured.
"People went down like ninepins," Jacques, who runs Le Queenie restaurant on the seafront, told France Info.
"I saw people go down," bystander Franck Sidoli , who was visibly shocked, told Reuters at the scene. "Then the truck stopped, we were just five metres away. A woman was there, she lost her son. Her son was on the ground, bleeding,"
Nice-Matin posted photographs of the truck, its windshield starred by a score of bullets and its radiator grille destroyed.
Since the Islamic State attacks last year, major public events in France have been guarded by troops and armed police, but it appeared to have taken some minutes to halt the progress of the deadly truck as it tore along pavements and a pedestrian zone.
Police told residents of the city, located 30 km (20 miles) from the Italian border, to stay indoors as they conducted further operations, though there was no sign of any other attack.
President Francois Hollande , who raced back to Paris from the south of France after the attack, was due to address a sleepless nation on television at 3:30 a.m. (0130 GMT). Hours earlier, in a traditional Bastille Day interview, he had said an eight-month state of emergency might end in two weeks time.

Islamic State militants killed 130 people in Paris on Nov. 13, the bloodiest in a number of attacks in France and Belgium in the past two years. On Sunday, a weary nation had breathed a collective sigh of relief as the month-long Euro 2016 soccer tournament across France ended without a feared attack.
Four months ago, Belgian Islamists linked to the Paris attackers killed 32 people in Brussels.
Police denied rumours on social media of a subsequent hostage-taking in Nice. Vehicle attacks have been used by isolated members of militant groups in recent years, notably in Israel, as well as in Europe, though never to such devastating effect.
U.S. President Barack Obama said in a statement: "On behalf of the American people, I condemn in the strongest terms what appears to be a horrific terrorist attack in Nice, France, which killed and wounded dozens of innocent civilians."

Emeka Ike ask court not to entertain Wife's suit for divorce
A popular Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has informed a Lagos Island Customary Court that he had filed an application before a High Court restraining the lower court from hearing the divorce suit filed by his estranged wife, Emma.
Emma had sometime in 2015 approached the court to dissolve the 16 years union between her and the Nollywood actor on grounds of incessant battery.
The actor had vehemently denied the allegation, and begged the court not to separate them, saying “I still love my wife’’.
When the matter, which was slated for judgment came up on Tuesday, Emeka’s lawyer, Mr Abdul Labi-Lawal informed the court that his client had filed a stay of proceedings before a High Court in Lagos.
The application marked FCMP/20054/16 had Emma and the Customary Court President, Mr Awos Awosola as the first and second defendants respectively.
The application sought the High Court’s declaration that the Lagos Island Customary Court lacked requisite jurisdiction to entertain and determine the Ike’s divorce suit.
The application noted that the marriage between the estranged couple was conducted in Enugu State under the Igbo customs and traditions.
Emeka also urged the High Court to declare that all the proceedings already conducted by the Customary Court in respect of couple’s marriage be rendered null and void.
The Nollywood actor also applied for a perpetual injunction restraining the Customary Court’s President, Awosola, and any other person appointed in the capacity of entertaining and or continuing the proceedings in respect of the couple’s divorce suit.
Labi-lawal, therefore, urged the court to stay proceedings on the suit pending the hearing and determination of the suit at the High Court.
Opposing the application, Emma’s lawyer, Mr Iheanyi Awa urged the court to discontinue the stay of application and deliver judgment.
Awa, who said Emeka’s application was aimed at arresting the court’s judgment, informed the court that neither his client nor himself had been served with the application.
“It is an attempt to arrest the judgment of the court, I am aware that the respondent wants to arrest the judgment which is to be delivered today.
“The stay of proceedings has been decided for a long time and court has ruled that it has jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
“It is a ploy to frustrate my client, they just want to delay the judgment till another day.
“The court should give its judgment and if they are not satisfied, they can appeal,” he said.
After listening to the submissions of both parties, the court said; “In view of the submission of the respondent, the stay of proceedings is hereby granted, and the matter is hereby adjourned sine die.’’ (NAN)
Buhari only delivered one campaign promise one year after.
A governance tracking tool launched by the Centre for Democracy and Development,
Buharimeter , says President Muhammadu Buhari has only achieved one of the campaign promises he made during the 2015 electioneering.
The national survey — Buharimeter — received responses from a cross-section of Nigerians, representing different social groups and government officials.
The responses were comments on three key issues that included corruption, economy and security.
According to a statement issued by the Director of CDD, Idayat Hassan, on Tuesday, 84 per cent of Nigerians endorsed the approach of President Buhari towards fighting corruption in the country.
The survey showed that the President’s zone, the North-West geopolitical zone with 60.2 per cent, had the highest number of citizens applauding his anti-corruption war.
The statement read, “Using the four categories (Achieved, Not Achieved, Ongoing and Not Yet rated), which were developed by the tracking tool to rate the extent of fulfillment of the campaign promises,
Buharimeter scored the President as follows:
“One promise was rated as “achieved” and 45 promises were rated as ‘ongoing’. According to the tracking tool, within the period under review, President Buhari has only achieved one campaign promise, which constitutes 0.5 per cent of all the tracked promises.”
The statement said the state of the Nigerian economy and its effects on the citizens, justified the low ratings the administration received in the national survey on the administration’s performance in the economy sector.
According to the survey, nearly two-thirds of the respondents rated the Federal Government’s performance in employment generation as either “very poor” (39.8 per cent) or “poor” (22 per cent).
On job creation, therefore, the report concluded that the expectations of Nigerians had largely remained unmet.

Mother of two shot dead along Abuja - Kaduna high way.
An officer of the State Security Service (SSS) in Kaduna shot dead a woman along Abuja – Kaduna express way Wednesday.
According to Umar Mohammed Ringim of the BBC Hausa service, “The woman who was a mother of two was shot on her forehead where she died instantly. Two other passengers on the vehicle also sustained serious bullet wounds.
"The deceased was in a Golf car whose driver refused to stop following the order of the security operatives on the highway."
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Ruwandorowa who confirmed the incident said, “The SSS personnel who was said to be responsible for this incident is in our custody while the corpse has been deposited in a hospital morgue in Kaduna."
Addressing media men on the incident, Adamu said, "I got a call that Abuja – Kaduna express way was blocked around the Kaduna toll gate. So I sent our men there. Not long after, The state Director of SSS told me what happened following accidental discharge by his boys.
I then went to the scene of the incident immediately. There we discovered that other travelers along the road used their vehicles to block the highway immediately which disrupted movements. But we got the cooperation of the public and we were able to clear the road. Normalcy has since returned in the area”
The Abuja highway has become a dead carnal in recent times. According to Jessica who has been monitoring happenings in the area, "This Abuja kaduna road is becoming something else...
If they are not kidnapping people they are shooting them dead or robbing them."
Residents of the towns and villages along the area have expressed deep perplexities over the ugly happenings along that road as series of people have been kidnapped and huge some of amounts been demanded as ransom before they are released.
Court Voids Electricity Tariff increase!
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday entered judgment against the National Electricity Regulation Commission and electricity distribution companies in a suit opposing the Federal Government’s bid to increase electricity tariff.
Justice Mohammed Idris declared as null and void any hike in electricity tariff that did not comply with the provisions of the Electricity Power Sector Reform Act 2004.
The judge declared the decision of the defendants to embark on electricity tariff hike as hasty and ordered immediate reversal to the status quo.
He also awarded a cost of N50,000 against the respondents in favour of the plaintiff in the suit.
The suit was filed last year May by a Lagos-based lawyer, Toluwani Adebiyi, following announcement of proposed electricity tariff hike by the then Chairman of NERC, Dr. Sam Amadi.
Adebiyi had urged the court to stop any hike in electricity tariff until there had been a meaningful and significant improvement in power supply to at least 18 hours in a day in most Nigerian communities.
Justice Idris had since May 28, 2015 restrained NERC from giving effect to the proposed hike pending the determination of the suit.
In his final judgment in the suit on Wednesday, the judge berated the commission for embarking on the proposed tariff hike despite the court order.
“The upward increment in tariff was hasty and procedurally ultra vires. The review was done in a breach of existing order. This again was hasty, reckless and irresponsible. The court has the inherent jurisdiction to undo what has been done by a party in self-help.
“The increment in tariff by the 1st defendant, while parties were before the court and there was a subsisting order for status quo, is hereby declared illegal.
“The 1st defendant is hereby directed to reverse to status quo. The 1st defendant is further restrained from increasing the electricity tariff except in strict compliance of the provisions EPSRA and the procedures stipulated in section 76 of the EPSRA.
“N50,000 cost is awarded against the defendants in favour of the plaintiff. That is the judgment of the court,” the judge held.
He declared the electricity tariff hike and procedural and rebuked NERC for he declared as executive recklessness, which he said could only breed lawlessness.

Osama Bin Laden's son threatens to revenge his father's assassination.
The son of slain al Qaeda leader
Osama bin Laden has threatened revenge
against the U.S. for assassinating his father,
according to an audio message posted online.
Hamza bin Laden promised to continue the
global militant group's fight against theU.S.
and its allies in the 21-minute speech entitled
"We Are All Osama," according to the SITE
Intelligence Group.
"We will continue striking you and targeting
you in your country and abroad in response to
your oppression of the people of Palestine,
Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and
the rest of the Muslim lands that did not
survive your oppression," Hamza said.
"As for the revenge by the Islamic nation for
Sheikh Osama, may Allah have mercy on him,
it is not revenge for Osama the person but it is
revenge for those who defended Islam."
Osama bin Laden was killed at his Pakistani
hideout by U.S. commandos in 2011 in a
major blow to the militant group which carried
out the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Documents recovered from bin Laden's
compound and published by the U.S. last year
alleged that his aides tried to reunite the
militant leader with Hamza, who had been
held under house arrest in Iran.
Hamza, now in his mid-twenties, was at his
father's side in Afghanistan before the 9/11
attacks and spent time with him in Pakistan
after the U.S.-led invasion pushed much of al
Qaeda's senior leadership there, according to
the Brookings Institution.
Introduced by the organisation's new chief
Ayman al-Zawahiri in an audio message last
year, Hamza provides a younger voice for the
group whose ageing leaders have struggled to
inspire militants around the world galvanized
by Islamic State.
"Hamza provides a new face for al Qaeda, one
that directly connects to the group's founder.
He is an articulate and dangerous enemy,"
according to Bruce Riedel of Brookings.

Dear Ladies, Your body is Sacred and Unique!
Two young ladies arrived a Meeting wearing
clothes that were quite revealing their body
parts. Here is what the Chairman told them:He
took a good look at them and made them
sit. Then he said something that, they might
never forget in their life. He looked at them
straight in the eyes and said; "ladies,
everything that God made valuable in this
world is well covered and hardly to see, find
or get.
1. Where do you find diamonds? Deep down
in the ground, covered and protected.
2. Where do you find pearls? Deep down at
the bottom of the ocean, covered up and
protected in a beautiful shell.
3. Where do you find gold? Way down in the
mine, covered over with layers of rock and to
get them, you have to work hard & dig deep
down to get them.
He looked at them with serious eyes and said;
"Your body is sacred & unique" You are far
more precious than gold, diamonds and
pearls, and you should be covered too."So he
added that, if you keep your treasured mineral
just like gold, diamond and pearls, deeply
covered up, a reputable mining organization
with the requisite machinery will fly down and
conduct years of extensive exploration.
First, they will contact your government
(family), sign professional contracts (wedding)
and mine you professionally( legal marriage)
.But if you leave
your precious minerals uncovered on the
surface of the earth, you always attract a lot of
illegal miners to come and mine you
illegally.Everybody will just pick up their crude
instruments and just have a dig on you just
freely like that. Keep your
bodies deeply covered so that it invite
professional miners to chase you.
Let us all encourage our wives, friends and
daughters to dress well and decent!

Cristiano Ronaldo Propel Portugal to Final at Euro 2016. Thrash Wales 2-0.
Portugal have qualified for the Euro 2016 final after beating Wales 2:0 in the semi-final match played on Wednesday night.
After a dull first half, Cristiano Ronaldo powered home a bullet header from a corner kick to put Portugal ahead on the 50th minute.
The Real Madrid star who was kept quite all through the first 45 minutes was on the move again three minutes later, firing a shot on goal which was connected home by Nani to double the lead.
Wales' technical crew made quick changes to get the team back on track but it was Portugal who continued threatening.
Gareth Bale produced some magical moments from several long range shots that were easily dealt with by Rui Patricio.
Portugal will now take on either of Germany and France who plays the second semi-final match on Thursday, in the final.

BBC Sports cited several Spanish reports that the Argentina footballer and his dad have been given prison terms for their tax crimes.
Messi is likely not to go to prison; in Spanish law, prison sentences of less than two years can be served under probation.
The Ballon d'Or holder has also been ordered to pay a fine of £1.7m, his father has also been fined £1.2 while the sentences can be appealed.
Proceedings began on Tuesday, May 31 but the Barcelona forward arrived to testify in person on Thursday, June 2 just four days before he is due to represent Argentina in the Copa America Centenario in the United States.
The 28-year-old denied knowledge of any fraudulent activities, stating that football was his only focus.
"I never asked my dad about these things, " Messi is quoted as telling the court by AS.
"The truth is that, as I said before, I trusted him and the lawyers. I didn't know anything about it, I just played football."
When questioned about the existence of a company called Jenbril, registered in Uruguay to handle payments relating to his image rights, Messi said: "I didn't know I was a member and manager of this company, I signed it because he [Jorge Messi] said so and I trusted him and the lawyers.
"All I knew was that I was signing a deal with sponsors to do adverts, photo shoots and things like that .
"I remember we went to a notary but I was 18 when I signed it and as you can imagine, I was in a different world. I don't remember anything about it."
Jorge Messi repeatedly told the court his son 'knew nothing about it'.
Messi is the second Barcelona player to be sentenced to prison for tax offences in 2016.
Defender, Javier Mascherano in January, was
sentenced to a combined 12-month prison term for two separate tax offences » .
This was after he admitted to a judge in October 2015 that he failed to declare his earnings from 2011 and 2012 at a hearing.
Another Barcelona player, Neymar is currently in legal battle with authorities in Spain over tax issues.

EFCC withdraws changes against Dieziani and Aluko
Justice Binta Murtala Nyako of a federal high court in Abuja has struck out the names of former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and a businessman, Chief Kolawole Akanni Aluko, from the criminal charges filed against them
While Madueke is in the United Kingdom, Akanni -Aluko is said to be at large.
Justice Nyako struck out their names after the prosecution counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, made an application to that effect.
Alison-Madueke and Akanni-Aluko were initially charged alongside Babajide John Omokore, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Ltd, Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept Ltd, Victor Briggs, Abiye Membere and David Mbanefo for alleged crude oil fraud.
However, Omokore and others were arraigned but they pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Interestingly, the prosecutor Jacobs, did not oppose the applications, but however told the judge to give them conditions that would make them appear in court for trial.
After the arguments on bail, Justice Nyako granted each of them bail in the sum N50 million.
Omokore and others were arraigned before the court on a nine-count charge slammed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In her ruling on the bail application of the defendants, Justice Nyako said each of the defendants must produce a surety, who must either be a senior civil servant or must have a landed property.
She said the sureties must depose to an affidavit of means and that the defendants must also deposit their international passport with the court.
Count one on the charge sheet signed by the Deputy Director, Legal and Prosecution Department of the EFCC, Aliyu M. Yusuf reads: “That you, Olajide Jones Omokore, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Ltd, Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Ltd and Kolawole Akanni Aluko (now at large) between May and October, 2013, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, by false pretence and with intent to defraud, induced the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Federal Government of Nigeria to deliver to you 5, 652, 227 barrels of crude oil (Brass blend) valued at the sum of US $ 616, 013, 615.27, through the medium of contact (Strategic Alliance Agreement) which delivery was induced by false pretence to wit: the representation that you have technical competence, professional skilss and funds (both local and foreign) necessary to support NPDC in petroleum operation for the OML 60, 62, 62 and 63 and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (1b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other fraud related offences Act CAP A6 2010 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.”
Count three: “That you, Olajide Jones Omokore, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Ltd, Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Ltd and Kolawole Akanni Aluko (now at large) between May 2013 and March 2014, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court obtained by false pretence and with intent to defraud 7, 551, 867 barrels of crude oil (Brass blend) valued at the sum of US$ 823, 075, 189.95 from Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Federal Government of Nigeria on the false pretence that ypu had funds (both local and foreign) necessary to support the Nigerian Petroleum Company Ltd in Petroleum operation for the OML 60, 61, 62 and 63 and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to Section 1 (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other fraud related offences Act CAP A6 2010 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.

"Take your corruption war beyond financial Crimes to Judicial misdemeanour", Tarila Okar writes Buhari, demands release of her Father.
Tarila Okah, daughter of Mr. Charles Okah, currently remanded at Kuje Prison and standing trial before s the Federal High Court in Abuja for the 2010 Independence Day bomb incident, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari, asking him to intervene in her father's matter.
In the letter, made available to SaharaReporters, Tarila wants Buhari to view her father's situation as an injustice to him.
"Mr. President, I am writing this letter principally to draw your attention, the entire people of Nigeria, and members of the international community to what I perceive as an injustice being wilfully and maliciously meted to my father by the Nigerian state. "Within the last 10 months, disturbing media reports about his attempt to commit suicide at the Federal High Court in Abuja on October 6, 2015 and his failing health are sad reminders of the harsh reality of my father's frustration with the judicial system in Nigeria, which is notorious for elastic trials that can drag on for years on end and wear out all parties," she wrote.
She complained about her father's protracted trial occasioned either by the absence of the presiding trial judge on account of attending a conference or for other reasons. These, she said, brings disrepute to Nigeria's country's justice system.
"For instance, the prosecutor, Alex Izinyon, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, failed to attend one of the trials on a date that had been agreed upon beforehand, instead choosing to attend his child's graduation ceremony abroad.
"With all due respect, Mr. President, no democratic government anywhere in the world, including Canada where I currently reside, would treat a prisoner's attempt at suicide as well as the prisoner's failing health, with disdain.
"Such a peculiar prisoner's case ought to be concluded speedily by the judiciary.
"Alternatively, such a prisoner of conscience, like my father, should be granted bail.
"However, from all indications, the Nigerian government is clearly insensitive to his plight," she further wrote.
Tarila said she has with spoken many Nigerian lawyers, who have sufficiently educated her that her Section 162 of the new Criminal Justice Administration Law of the country, her father is entitled to bail, having spent over three years in prison custody. In spite of this, she said, Justice Gabriel Kolawole has twice overruled her father's applications for bail. Even then, Tarila added, the trial has been crawling. Tarila noted that Justice Kolawole, in 2011, easily granted bail to Senator Ali Ndume, who was standing trial for terrorism as an alleged sponsor of Boko Haram.
"Today, after being re-elected on the platform of your party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ndume is the Majority Leader of Nigeria's upper legislative chamber, the Senate, while my father (who is equally as important to society) is still languishing in prison as an inmate awaiting trial almost six years after he was first arrested on October 16, 2010, on suspicion of being "Jomo Gbomo," the spokesman for the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND)," her letter said.
Tarila also complained about the position of the media on her father's culpability otherwise in the Independence Day bomb incident. At first, she said, Okah was accused of being the spokesperson of MEND. Later, she added, she was painted as an accomplice to the alleged crime. "After the media and the Nigerian government realised that 'Jomo Gbomo' was still releasing statements on behalf of MEND, even as my father was firmly held in custody, now, he is accused of being the mastermind," she said.
Tarila said, thus far, the prosecution has relied heavily on 'witnesses,' all of whom have provided contradictory statements under cross-examination. She pointed out that at a recent court sitting, a witness from the Department of State Security (DSS), who claimed to be a crime scene investigator, admitted that no evidence was collected at the crime scene. However, another witness who allegedly 'sold' a Mazda car to the second defendant, admitted under cross-examination that the first time he set his eyes on the said car (Exhibit 2) was at the premises of the DSS Abuja Headquarters.
"Without prejudice to his ongoing trial before Justice Gabriel Kolawole, I honestly believe that my father is innocent of the crimes alleged against him. Over the six-year period of his incarceration and trial, his businesses which employed many Nigerians have collapsed; his family is in disarray.
"Years apart, especially under such circumstances, often dissolves the emotional bonds between a husband and his wife, and for my much younger siblings who have now spent more time without their father, there are virtually no emotional bonds to be dissolved," she said.
Tarila also told Buhari that she will be getting married in a few weeks, an event that will take place without her father's involvement. Tarila said she feels a mixture of joy and pain as this day approaches knowing that her father is alive but in captivity.
"Clearly, my siblings and I are being punished vicariously by the Nigerian state for crimes allegedly committed by our father, which have not been proven beyond reasonable doubt by a court of competent jurisdiction.
"Unfortunately, in Nigeria, the mere act of filing even trumped-up charges carries along with it a strong presumption of guilt, which has led to my father's conviction in the court of public opinion and has also led to the abuse of his fundamental human rights.
"I know that some Nigerians, on reading this open letter, will attack me for daring to appeal for my father's freedom, but my message to those compatriots is simple: it is high time we focused on finding the real perpetrators," she challenged.
Tarila concluded by calling in Buhari to take his administration' fight against corruption beyond financial crimes to judicial misdemeanours.
JAMB Releases New guidelines for 2016 Admission Process.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released its guidelines for the 2016 admissions’ process.
The exam body said it has adopted what it termed the point system option after an extensive one-week meeting JAMB had with universities and other tertiary institutions’ administrators in the country.
While explaining how the admission process would work for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates and direct entry students, the organisation stated that universities were going to charge fees for screening of candidates at the end of the process for admission.
According to JAMB, “the new method uses a point system to offer provisional admission to candidates.”
“Before a candidate can be considered for screening, he/she must have been offered a provisional admission by JAMB. The JAMB admission checker portal is going to be opened soon for this process, so praying is all you can do now,” JAMB said.
The statement said, “JAMB’s provisional admission no longer makes much sense this year, your points tally will decide your faith. The points are evenly spread out between your O’ Level and JAMB results to provide a level-playing field for all.
“In the first case, any candidate who submits only one result which contains his/her relevant subjects already has 10 points. The exam could be NECO, WASSCE, November/December WASSCE etc, but any candidate who has two sittings only gets 2 points. So this means that candidates with only one result are at an advantage but only just.”
Get Bigger Manhood and Last 25minutes During Sex using this Safe, Natural solution. Click Here!
The organisation added that the “next point grades fell into the O’ Level grades where each grade would have it equivalent point; A=6 marks, B=4 marks, C=3 marks, so the better the candidates’ grades, the better his or her chances of securing admission this year.
“The next point is the UTME scores where each score range has its equivalent point which can be summarised thus, 180-200=20-23 marks, 200-250=24-33 points, 251-300=34-43, 300-400=44-60 points,” JAMB explained.
Giving a breakdown, JAMB explained that each category would contain five JAMB results per point added.
For example a candidate with 180-185 gets 20 points, while a candidate with 186-190 gets 21 points.
JAMB added that the point system for direct entry would be released soon.
JAMB stated that fees would still be charged for screening which would replace the Post UTME test.
JAMB also emphasised that catchment and educationally less-developed state would still be used for admission into the nation’s tertiary institutions.
JAMB said, “Merit contains 45 per cent of the total candidates for a particular course, Catchment contains 35 per cent and ELDS and staff lists contains the rest. Cut off marks will be released by the institutions this year in the form of points and not marks.
“If a school declares its cut off mark for Medicine as 90 points and JAMB grants a candidate with 250 a provisional admission but his/her total points falls short of the 90 points, then he/she will lose the admission. So the provisional admission is just a means to an end, not the end in itself.”

Stella Oduah challenges anybody with proves that she deposited N2.5b in her Maid's account to publish it.
Stella Oduah, a former Minister of Aviation and
senator (PDP-Anambra North), on Monday
denied reports that the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission was on her trail
for allegedly stashing nearly N2.5 billion in a
bank account she set up using the identity of
her domestic aide.
Ms. Oduah, who said she received the reports
while relaxing in her country home in Anambra
State, challenged those who published the
allegations to publish proofs that substantiate
her guilt.
News website, SaharaReporters, had on
Sunday reported EFCC sources as revealing
to it how Ms. Oduah used the name and
pictures of the unnamed maid to set up the
account.
“Senator Oduah apparently opened the
account with her housemaid’s name, image,
and details without the housemaid knowing
about it,” Sahara Reporters quoted one of the
EFCC sources as saying.
The account, the report said, was still active
as at last week.
But in a rebuttal her office sent to PREMIUM
TIMES around 9 a.m. Monday, Ms. Oduah
said the reports were “totally false, baseless
and at best the imagination of the platform.”
In the statement, signed by Francisca Onyeisi,
head of communications, Ms. Oduah said that
if the reports were true, she would have been
arrested long before now, especially at a time
when the EFCC is “freezing accounts and
going after opposition governors who enjoy
same level of immunity as the president.”
The former minister, therefore, urged her
supporters and the general public to ignore the
reports, saying she had “made a mark in oil
and gas and Agricultural businesses before
joining politics.”

Some Hardcore Truth about Marriage, you must never ignore.
1. There is nothing that threatens the security of a wife than the thought of another woman competing for the attention and affection of her husband. Nothing is more painful. Nothing is more disrespecting. Nothing is more insulting. Nothing is more belittling and degrading.
2. Marriage flourishes when the couple works together as a team; when both husband and wife decide that winning together is more important than keeping score.
Good marriages don't just happen. They are a product of hard work.
3. Your children are watching you and forming lasting opinions on love, commitment, and marriage based on what they see in you. Give them hope. Make them look forward to marriage.
4. Husbands: The reason why other women look attractive is because someone is taking good care of them. Grass is always green where it is watered. Instead of drooling over the green grass on the other side of the fence, work on yours and water it regularly. Any man can admire a beautiful woman, but it takes a true gentleman to make a woman admirable and beautiful.
5. When a husband puts his wife first above everyone and everything except God, it gives his wife the sense of security and honor that every wife hungers for.
6. A successful marriage doesn't require a big house, a perfect spouse, a million dollars or an expensive car. You can have all the above and still have a miserable marriage. A successful marriage requires honesty, undying commitment and selfless love and God at the center of it all.
7. Pray for your spouse every day; in the morning, in the afternoon and at evening. Don’t wait until there is a problem. Don’t wait until there is an affair. Don’t wait until something bad happens. Don’t wait until your spouse is tempted. Shield your spouse with prayer and cover your marriage with the fence of prayer.
8. The people you surround yourself with have a lot of influence on your marriage. Friends can build or break your marriage; choose them wisely.
9. One spouse cannot build a marriage alone when the other spouse is committed to destroying it. Marriage works when both husband and wife work together as a team to build their marriage.
10. Don't take your spouse for granted. Don't take advantage of your spouse's meekness and goodness. Don't mistake your spouse's loyalty for desperation. Don't misuse or abuse yours spouse's trust. You may end up regretting after losing someone that meant so much to you.
11. Beware of marital advice from single people. Regardless of how sincere their advice may be, most of it is theoretical and not derived from real life experiences. If you really need Godly advice, seek it from God-fearing, impartial and prayerful mature couples whose resolve has been tested by time and shaped by trials.
12. Dear wife, Don't underestimate the power of the tongue on your marriage. The tongue has the power to crush your marriage or build it up. Don't let the Devil use your tongue to kill your spouse's image, self-confidence and aspirations. Let God use your tongue to build up your marriage and bless and praise your spouse.
